'Ello,

So I was considering getting back into Fantasy after a very long break, but Age of Sigmar does not appeal to me. So I dug up my good ol' Mordheim book and set off to try and convince my pen & paper buddies to build warbands.

Unfortunately, I checked the french webstore and I saw some models listed as "no longer available". Namely, the Putrid Blightkings (those are recent, aren't they ?), the Grand Master of the Blazing Sun and the Skink Priest. I went to the UK store to see if those models were OOP there too, and yes, they are. I then proceeded to the US one and saw that the Orcs & Goblins Battalion is listed as "no longer available", like the Arrer Boys and the Amber Battle Wizard.

Do models get listed as such by error or are they gone for good? I'm reluctant to buy anything now, I fear we won't be able to finish our warbands in time.

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.

I would think for things like the putrid blightkings that those are going back for repackaging and will return. The older models I would assume are gone forever as they bring out the new model line.

If it says "no longer available" then they are gone for good. When they are just out of stock they use "temporarily unavailable" and you get a button that lets them email you when they come back in stock.

Keep an eye on eBay, you'll probably be able to pick up anything you want.

Not entirely true, as Hello Kitty say's if the change the product even slightly the previous incarnation will be no longer available. They did this with the change to softback armybooks/codexes, Putrid Blightkings have The Ends Times packaging expect them to return with AoS pacakaging.

Not to be pessimistic, but you should be buying from the cheapest location. So eBay instead of the GW store

Putrid Blightkings are still showing on the Australian Webstore

Thanks for your answers.

I don't really like buying from ebay, so I try to stick to GW or retailers.

I'm still on the fence about buying models though; the fact that they're already phasing out part of the existing ranges is upsetting.

Rumours say once moulds break they won't get replaced so if you want something it may be better to buy sooner than later.

Or swear of GW and refuse to give them another penny.

Steel molds generally don't "break" if they are well cared for or maintained. Tamiya models is still churning out kits with molds cut in the 1960's (nearly 50yrs old). Rubber molds for resin is quite a different matter, true enough.
