Inquisitor doing something good actually:evilgrin: (fluff wise not personal joke).

Really nice minis on a standard achievable by mortals (not by superhuman painers). My favourite type of painted minis.

Well thank you all:)

@Mortare:As was said the shells are already on the model
@Blaze XI... were you insinuating my Inquisitor Lorr isn't 100% on the straight and narrow..;)

@still learning, the reds really simple,i use it for a lot of my things:

Basecoat scab red(maybe two coats for even colour)
Highlight equal mix of blood red and scab red.

And heres two flamers:

Well heres another two guys, the one with bolt pistol will be a platoon junior officer and the guy with plasma pistol is going to lead my hardened vets.

That looks extremely good. I especially like the effect on the plasma pistol and the rather worn look on the models overall, not too "parade-ground"-like.

These guys are still slightly WIP-they just need a bit more work, mainlythe standard.

Very good looking Vossies. The brass/gold is quite pleasant, not overly harsh, the colours are well executed. What are you using for squad designations? I was looking at the feathers being designators for my force.

Well sorry for the lack of updates but i was at my 6th Form induction day today...:D

@Devolutionary... I don't really know what to use for squad markings as theres no real place to paint anything or put anything on.Also your feathers idea is good but not enough of the models have feathers for it to be practical
@cookiescrumble...Oh about another 130:rolleyes:

Heres the Vet Sergeant and the WIP Officer,C&C please...

I've got to admit, I'm impressed. I've tried painting that Standard Bearer, so I know what you've managed there is no mean feat - mine has taken ages and it's not as good as yours!

Keep it up - consider this thread subscribed!

Do you have an army list yet?

Well i kinda hve a vague one,i've written about 6 or 7 lists and they all vary slightly, but heres what they're all based around

-Command platoon
-lascannon support squad

-Platoon command with 4 flamers
-5x Squad with Heavy bolter

-Platoon command with 4 flamers
-5xSquda with lascannons

-3x 5 man veteran Squads with 3x plasma and seargeant with P.pistol

Then its just a matter of chopping and changing things, but i'll wait until i get more models before i make a more substantial list.

I have painted a few more models now and nearly have enough for a min platoon,i would get pics but its raining(finally)and my pics taken inside are even worse than those taken outside:D

Looks very similar to mine, although mine is just 1000pts. I find if I plan anything larger, it never gets done!

As far as the models themselves are concerned, do you have any conversions planned?

I've been thinking for a while now and so far i've thought of making a meltagun out of a flamer(ingenius i know.....:p ).But other than that and simple weapon swaps i'm not too sure.I do however really want to make a vostroyan autocannon out of the cadian one ,just use the lascannon gunner and it should be easy..

If you have any ideas, please suggest away.:D :D

Snakebite
31-07-2006, 22:33
Hmm, lets see...

Making a meltagun out of a flamer - nope, you've got that one!

I've only played around with a couple of conversion ideas for my Vostroyans so far. I've used a Space Marine Scout head on a Vostroyan Sniper, a Space Marine Scout Bolt Pistol on the Vostroyan Senior Officer and the half flesh / half metal Space Marine head on the Vostroyan Medic. I have so many Space Marine plastic parts that they will undoubtedly form the bulk of any conversions I try out.

I hear you on that Autocannon conversion. I had a similar one in mind, although mine was to use the Heavy Bolter Vostroyan Team and add some tubing to the end of the weapon to extend the barrel. It's only on paper so far but it looks pretty good!

I'm going to modify the medic in to a Missile Launcher. Have a look at the model, you'll see the potential involved with it. I dont know whether to have him holding the weapon or to mount the weapon like an Autocannon, but that's no biggie, I'm sure once I have the parts it'll all come together.

Thats a pretty cool one actually....i'm not entirely sure what you mean but if you mean removing his arms somehow and using other arms then yeah that sounds like it would work and look damn cool.:D

The medpack on the ground can be built in to an ammo box, and he can hold either a missile or the weapon itself in the other hand, simply remove at the wrist, a bit of GS, and a Cadian missile launcher. Failing that, he can be a spotter, in a similar manner to the Mordian mortar spotter. I'm not using any Medics, as it's a true trencher force, and since I have multiple medics from my platoon boxes, I may as well use em ;)

By the way, to reply to a question a litle while back, yes the insignia come sculpted on the guard flags, but it still take some skill to paint them well, you just have a guide, which does help a litle, but you still have to put highlights, etc on the right places, or else the don't turn out quite right.

Anyways looking good, keep up the good work!

Wee sugestion for autocannons. . . Any of you ever play Command and Conquer: Generals? As the Yanks? With their meaty assed gun drone thingys. I'm thinking a trio of them'd look exceptionally nifty as an autocannon squad. Yes? No? Maybe? Shut up and go away Dave?

Dave out.
