So I just finished one of Dan Abnett's non-40k books, a military sci-fi novel called Embedded. I was planning to do a small Tempestus Scions force (no more than 30 models) to represent the main military in the book, the SOMD. They're essentially heavily-armed modern-esque infantry in drop-ships. If anyone else has read it and could give me some pointers for places to look regarding models, it would be a great help.

(P.S. If this should go in M/P&T, could a mod please move it? Thanks!)

Anvil Industries is doing some great stuff in that domain IMO: http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/AFTERLIFE/Republic

I wouldnt use the Tempestus tbh, while they're high tech by 40k standards they're downright backward compared to the competition(they wear breastplates seriously:rolleyes: what is this final fantasy?).

There are many other manufacturers that fit the high tech themed human troopers much better than GW and at a more competitive price

I'd suggest you use dreamforge game's line to fill out your Tempestus, link disclosed below

There's other lines, but dreamforge is the one I'd had personal experience with. You dont even have to use the guns if you don't want to but imo the dreamforge troopers provide the best base for high tech troopers

I also had the same issue you had, I wanted a very high tech practical looking squad.

Second this, a mate of mine recently got their black ops marines and they're amazing.

Don't get me wrong, 40k space marines have their own charm but they can't all be silly chainsword wielding gloryhogs

@Dr. Clock, Okuto: Thank you for the suggestions. I think I'll probably end up going with the Republic commandos. Also, does anyone know any solid Valkyrie proxies? I have one that I'm going to assemble for the command squad, but I'd really rather not pay $132 for two more.
