Im wanting to make/convert my own rapiers and I'm curious to know the scale I need to work with. Would the Adeptus Mechanicus Kataphron Battle Servitors tracks and lower assembly be true to scale to build the rapiers on?

From looking at the official model, I'd say it just has to fit comfortably on a 50mm base and be around marine height - since you're talking chaos, the gun mount/propulsion could be anything from tracks to wheels to legs to tentacles. But yes, the Kataphron chassis would seem to suit quite well, although far from the cheapest option.

I'm crafting up a heap of these - hopefully enough for 2 units. Three of them are going to be based on killa kans; I've modded the legs so that the torso juts forward and up, and they'll have large guns. The 'faces' of the Kans will be concealed behind large Khorne symbols of various prvenance. The other three are planned as 'fire teams' of actual marines using heavy weapons with an up-armoured/shielded 'sentinel' guy - it'll be three marines in total on each base.

Cheers,

The Good Doctor.

*Subtle steps out of a convenient shadow*

With college throttling my studio time to death, production of the Mor'ses platforms and weapon systems is slowed, but the studio is very much active. Winter break should see a restock plus some surprises. This is just the first taste of the types of kits I plan to produce, starting with Chaos and evolving to more Loyalist kits as time progresses. If you like what you see, stay tuned to Legion Rising for future studio updates. The signal may get weak sometimes, but it never stops...

Nice, but I can't find any pics that show how big these are?

My platforms are inspired directly from the official FW Rapier model. The armour plates make the model look a bit bulkier, but the footprint and silhouette of the model are very close to the official Rapier. My kits are designed specifically to blend in with official models as seamlessly as possible.

I have one kit primed, but my time has been so limited that I haven't had time to make some crew for it and paint it up. When I do I'll be sure to take pictures to give a better sense of scale.

Thanks for the feedback.

Kataphron battle servitors make a good base for them. I am going to use cyclops demolition vehicles for some, and matchbox industrial equipment toys for the others.
