RELEASE WEEK TYPES
In my view, the new product releases for the 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year have fallen into the two categories of Warhammer 40,000 (40K) and Age of Sigmar (AoS).

Previously, I identified the following boxed games as "Game" in my categorization:
2014-2015 1st: 75 Space Hulk on 20 Sep 2014
2014-2015 2nd: 75 Assassinorum: Execution Force on 02 May 2015
2015-2016 1st: 95 The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth on 14 Nov 2015

The 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year included the release of the following games, and showed me that I needed an added level of granularity to "Game" in my categorization:
- 100 Deathwatch Overkill on 05 Mar 2016
- 120 Imperial Knights: Renegade on 23 Apr 2016
- 95 Warhammer Quest Silver Tower on 21 May 2016

Besides using 40K and AoS in my categorization, I added the letters of "BG" (Boxed Game) to create 40KBG and AoSBG and to identify those type of new product releases. With 40K, AoS, 40KBG, and AoSBG, my categorization of the new product releases for the 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year is as follows:

Dec 2015: 05-AoS, 12-AoS, 19-AoS, 26-None
Jan 2016: 02-None, 09-Both*, 16-AoS, 23-AoS, 30-AoS
Feb 2016: 06-AoS, 13-40K, 20-40K**, 27-40K
Mar 2016: 05-40KBG, 12-AoS, 19-AoS, 26-AoS
Apr 2016: 02-AoS, 09-AoS, 16-40K, 23-40KBG, 30-AoS
May 2016: 07-40K, 14-AoS, 21-AoSBG, 28-AoS

* "Start Collecting!" boxes for 40K and AoS
** 40K release greater than the AoS release

With past data, I put the types of release weeks in table form and counted the number of release weeks as follows:

------------------------RELEASE TYPE--------------------------
HALF-YEAR Total 40K ET AoS Both -BoxedGame- Paint None Unknown
40K 30K AoS

2014-2015 1st 26 14 7 1 4

2014-2015 2nd 26 16 7 1 2

2015-2016 1st 26 10 14 1 1

2015-2016 2nd 26 5 15 1 2 1 2

Using my categorization, if one includes the box games within the 40K and AoS types of release weeks, then AoS has 16 weeks and 40K has 7 weeks. That's a ratio of AoS to 40K of 2.28:1. If one does not include the box games, then that's a ratio of AoS to 40K of 3:1 with AoS having 15 weeks and 40K having 5 weeks.

Regardless of inclusion or exclusion, the fact is that AoS has had much more release weeks than 40K in the 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year. That's about 69% or 75% for AoS of the total of AoS and WH40K types of release weeks depending on the inclusion or exclusion, respectively.

WEBSTORE EXCLUSIVE
New product releases which are WEBSTORE EXCLUSIVE and which GW provides an unit sales count provide a means of calculating an external sales revenue (given the product release sells completely). Past external sales revenue using price and unit sales count of WEBSTORE EXCLUSIVE are as follows:
2014-2015 1st Half: 842,500 = 667,500 40K + 175,000 ET
2014-2015 2nd Half: 848,800 = 723,800 40K + 125,000 ET
2015-2016 1st Half: 1,101,250 = 596,250 40K + 505,000 AoS

The new product releases for the 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year which were identified as WEBSTORE EXCLUSIVE included the following:
- 120 Battletome: Everchosen (Limited Edition) 1000
- 100 The End Times Collection (narrative books only, softback) - still available
- 115 War Zone Fenris: Curse of the Wulfen - Sage Edition 1,250
- 95 Chaos Daemons Grimoire Collection 500
- 18 Imperial Space Marine (2016)
- 20 Index Astartes: Apocrypha

For those WEBSTORE EXCLUSIVE new product releases with an unit sales count for the 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year, the external sales revenue are as follows:
120,000 = 120 * 1000 Battletome: Everchosen - AoS
143,750 = 115 * 1250 War Zone Fenris: Curse of the Wulfen - 40K
47,500 = 95 * 500 Chaos Daemons Grimoire Collection - 40K

311,250 = 120,000 AoS + 143,750 40K + 47,500 40K

Including the above 311,250 in the same form with the list of others produces the following:

2014-2015 1st Half: 842,500 = 667,500 40K + 175,000 ET
2014-2015 2nd Half: 848,800 = 723,800 40K + 125,000 ET
2015-2016 1st Half: 1,101,250 = 596,250 40K + 505,000 AoS
2015-2016 2nd Half: 311,250 = 191,250 40K + 120,000 AoS

If I combine a portion of the table of the types of release weeks with some of the above numbers of external sales revenue, then I get the following:

-RELEASE TYPE-
40K ET AoS WEBSTORE-EXCLUSIVE-Unit-Sales
40K ET AoS

2014-2015 1st 14 7 667,500 175,000

2014-2015 2nd 16 7 723,800 125,000

2015-2016 1st 10 14 596,250 505,000

2015-2016 2nd 5 15 191,250 120,000

The number in the above table that stands out for me is the 120,000 for 15 release weeks of AoS. That's a drastic drop from 505,000 for 14 release weeks of AoS in the previous year. And, that's a drastic difference from 667,500 and 723,800 for 14 and 16 release weeks, respectively, of 40K.

The point here is the drastic drop itself of (actual or expected) external sales revenue of WEBSTORE EXCLUSIVE new product releases with an unit sales count for the 2nd half of the GW 2015-2016 financial year from previous half-years by 500,000+.

And now we wait for the release of the GW 2015-2016 Annual Report.

Please point out any mistakes.

The "AoS is a great success, it is now making 30% of our revenues" rumour from some times ago -if it happens to be true- is really put in perspective when you realise that AoS has also been getting released as 2 to 3 times the rate of new 40k products. :shifty:

I'm waiting to see if TW:WH had any impact, i.e. GW get a % of each sale or did they lease the ip at a flat rate

Also depends what the revenue turns out to be. If the financials come in and revenue is down, then that 30% is still 30% of less than what they used to earn aka not that much of a success afterall.
