Hi All,
Probably a stupid question, but I am curious so I'm still gonna ask:
I got my hands on two SM dreadnoughts which are made of metal and I was wondering how old they where? Since when did GW make plastic dreads?

The plastic one is about 4-5 years old i think. the metal ones (proived its the same style design as the plastic one) is still avaialable tho from mail order and in retail stores in the form of the space wolves one and the furioso

Wow, has it really been that long? I've been playing this game far too long. Umm, sometime around the middle of Third edition I think is when the plastic dread was released.

but metal dreads have been being sold until few months ago, at least in independent stores...

No way...when the heck did GW start making plastic dreads???

It has been awhile, hasn't it...

Everything goes in circles...

It should say the date of the model's release into the public from its mould. Some of my new guants slotta bases are from '92 and several other models are fairly old aswell. Check for a year on the bottom of the foot or something.

They've already been glued on a base, but I have to redo them anyway (they currently look awful :D). So I'll do that as soon as I start working on these...

I have also checked the site from GW and I think these two are a Blood Angels Dreadnought and a Space Wolves Dreadnought, but I am not sure. (On my gallery there are pictures of them if now I made you curious as well).
But the both of them will become Grey Knight Dreadnoughts anyway :D

the dark angels dread is also metal, the one that comes with lascannon/ml combo

Blood angels one had a multimelta, and the space wold an assault cannon and claws on the power fist. Their sarcophagus also had slightly different icons, but hese are fairly similar to the current plastic ones

I indeed recognised them by their sarcophagus' they where different on the both of them...

Their banner poles also had different tops if I remember correctly.
