Gangs of Commorragh is out today (I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive :() and there has been a lot of chatter about the cardboard spires and their lack of 'Wow' factor. The trouble is finding the right balance between making some that look cool and making them functional as well as easy to store.

I'm thinking more variety in height is a must and I'd like to include a bit of character. I try and get a few sketches done this evening.

I've found a few images on google and have created a bit of a mood board for inspiration but sadly photo bucket is being a bit of a muppet right now and the links aren't working properly...

Anyone else got any ideas or suggestions?

A quick fix might be to color the edges with a sharpie that matches. Its a quick and dirty fix that I have done on other punch out pieces for board games

That's my plan for the card spires, marker pen the edges then liquid super glue to seal them. Someone else suggested a water proof indian ink which does both jobs at the same time.

The trouble with the card spires is they aren't black so using a black marker might look a little odd. I'm going to try it out first on the punch board edges to see how it looks before diving into the card spires. If that doesn't look right then I will try and find another colour that matches better.
