Sorry if these are old news. I checked the Rumour Roundup and didn't see anything about this.

This is the sprue for the new plastic Orc Warboss model. As was well-documented, it has enough parts for a boss on foot, and one on a boar. The great weapon is truly *great* in size (the standard and the axe head both attach to the same pole). Among the other more colourful accessories are plenty of nifty Orc heads, and a Snotling in a diaper.

I took these tonight at my local GW - they got a sample sprue as preview material for upcomming releases.

And once again, my appologies if this is old news and everyone's seen these already.

What an interesting sprue(s)! I can see a great deal of versatility in it already. Very very nice. I look forward to the eventual Cyboar conversions that will also spring from this.

i think i've seen the sprues already somewhere...

but did you see, that you can do a hero on boar AND one on foot? I always tought you'd be able to do one of them (so... not enough parts for two heroes).

Yep, you can make a warlord on boar and a bsb or something.

But i hate that damn banana axe! Axe the weapons are a little too big for my tastes.

Looking good... is it anyone else than me that feels that GW has taken inspiration from one of the first bosses in the new Zelda?

I'll see if I can get a piccie

I added the pictures to the O&G thread in the Rumour Roundup (http://www.warseer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=63) forum, maybe you've more luck there? :)

It's a little cartoony, but other then that I'm all for it. Yes, there will be 40K conversions for this little toy. Indeed!

I might have to use this sprue to "pimp" my battle standard bearer.
Who knows, I might even make a big boss to beef too.

The goblin counterpart does look quite cool!

Sadly the model is a bit..... how should I put it... average?

I dont particularly like the fact that the banner + two handed axe use the same arms, the axe looks very silly.

Very nice... if a tad large. Ah well, it's Orcs!

it seems the sillyness has been sucked out of the night goblins and pumped into the orcs, not that its a good thing

Anyone heard anything about new Orc shamen? I have only seen the savage orc shaman holding the skull but he is a little feral for my tastes.

I guess it will come out when the rest of the Orc stuff gets out... before christmas will say.

I agree with you about that he looks to avarage. Why can't GW just do a slightly bigger, meaner, with extra cool gear Orc warboss with not too large weapons?!

Ah, well, atleast they actually made an Orc hero... for the first time.

WOW if you look you can make 2 heros (dunno if any1s said this but theres 2 bodys 2 heads and legs to clapse to the boar and standing legs:D so we can make a mounter character with optional banner and a foot hero dunno about banner:D but this is AWSOME:D

...Big...Fat...Piggy...

If this is teh direction the boar boys are going then units are going to be a lot more chaotic, just hope the boars have some more 'violent' poses. The last ones (I love the old boar boys) were fantastic but lacked the violence and character they were described with.

Am I the only one who thinks the boar looks absolutely naff? I mean, like the guy above said he just looks bored basically. i mean your Lordy bloke could look just well up for a scrap, but the boars just "meh, well done, your riding a boar, enjoy". Also a pain as the legs have been attached to the boar and make the warboss have stumpy legs, its just out of proportion! Otherwise I think the models great, gonna have a hard time converting it other than just ironing out the boar problem....

I am still not to keen on the new Orc warboss model. I think its mainly just the over sized axe head, from the picture it looks about the same size as the warboss's body. I also dont like the new Boars much as well. They just dont really look like Wild Boars to me. It could be the lack of hair or something.

The more I see of the new Warboss sprues the less I like them.

OoOoo...Looking through my Bitz box and I might have just been saved. Will the orc bodies on the spru fit onto the normal orc legs from the current plastic box set? Just found some boar rider legs from what I presume to be the £50 box set or from the plastic orc boys box. If I can get his body fitted onto normal legs, give him the big axe in the box and sit him on a normal boar that will be sweet :P

Looks good except for that giant spear-thing. Too bad the legs are attached to the boar too ..

Looking good, i'd have to agree about the spear though.

very old thread - sorry for bumping this - but how well do these fantasy orc warlord sprues scale with the 40k metal ork character models?

i.e. would the arms look too small on a metal ork warboss torso or too big on a nob's torso.

any help is appreciated, before I drop some hard earneds on the box!

Rabid Bunny 666

They're slightly bigger than a Boy, too small on a Metal warboss OR a Nob by far.

For this kind of stuff, I think it might be better to start a new thread somewhere else instead of casting some threadomancy here...

what do you mean by threadomancy?? (a new term on me) the question I asked was relevant to the info on this thread, I thought it was good forum etiquette to keep relevant stuff in its own thread instead of posting another thread altogether?

sorry if I broke any rules...

Tokamak
22-11-2008, 19:32
I see your logic, but no, it's not relevant to this thread, as this thread is about the release of the warboss.

It would be very chaotic if everyone started to bring up rumour threads concerning old models wouldn't it?

Wow, I got excited there, thinking there was a new Orc wave coming up.

Lock this thread please mods.

He means necroposting, i.e. digging up an old thread and reincarnating it. As this is the news forum, everyone probably got excited and thought there was actually going to be news, hence they may be a little peeved.

Hmm...was this one of the first sculptures in the CAD program they're using now? Some of the sculpting looks quite poor :/
