You may or may not know that slaaneshi daemon princes can strike first because they are marked with slaanesh.

It doesn't say anywhere in the book that a keeper of secrets has the mark of slaanesh which would mean it can't strike first. Is that right?

Thus, the keeper cannot strike first

well that sucks

And he should be able to since all the other greater daemons basically (Bloodthirster has magic resistance instead of +1 dispel dice) have the mark of their gods.

It says in the Chaos book that they "count" as having the marks of their respective gods, although they may not have the same effects that the marks give to them. If I remember right though, he still has a rediculously high Initiative.

All the Greater Daemons have really high Initiative, apart from the Great Unlcean One. He is kind of rubbish - go for a Daemon Prince instead.

Initiative 10 and Soporific Musk = Strikes first anytime when not charged, besides, as good as everything with WS 8 or lower will hit him/her/it on a 5+

Yes, they count as having the Mark for army building purposes. So no Army of Tzeentch with a GUO in it. :)

On the topic of GUO: It doesn't suck, it is just a bit more unwieldy than a flying GD. But it is tough as nails and if played properly can steamroller the entire enemy battleline in one go. He is one of the hardest GDs around, but he needs support, desperately. Unlike the other GDs, who can do their thing pretty much alone, but are as effective as a Dragon-Character (ie. good, but often not worth their points) [/tactics]

Never noticed that. Pretty good.
