Well, it's about 40K models in the online store, so I though I'd put it here.

Just looking at the Hive Tyrant with Retinue (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=COMP0106040G&orignav=10), and I'm sturck by the sheer apparent idiocy of whoever was let loose on photshop.

Why have they paired up models from two different Hive Fleets? It's like selling a Marine Commander and Retinue bundle, with an Ultramarine leading a bunch of Imperial Fists. I just don't get it.

yes, I know I'm just moaning about GW's ineptness, but it often triggers amusing kneejerk reactions from GW-haters and fanboys alike.

Oh, no, he's escorting them to prison. They're hostages to ensure the good behavior of another hive fleet. The actual Guard are invisibly hovering around him to spring out and protect him.

I don't know, it looks kind of good. The Tyrants different scheme makes it look more badass.

I didn't really notice the color difference, although the scale between the two types looks a bit off to me.

lol, there are loads of errors on the website, they obviously don't care too much (and don't need to) I have noticed tons of silly spelling errors, and even details about certain chaos units which are from 2nd edition rules (used to describe unit abilities).

Probably had the models and chose guard and Tyrant that looked similar or close enough.

Haha! This thread gives me a visual of a Trekkie at a sci-fi convention standing up to ask William Shatner the combination to the safe in episode 241.

Seriously I think the reason for using two different color schemes was to give contrast between the different types of models as the Tyrant is standing behing the other models.

I think Jimmy at GW HQ just won a bet on how long it would take someone on the 'net to find this and post a thread... We do it at my job... It's fun as hell!

Wow, you're ranting about random color schemes in GW pictures.....You must be really bored ;)

Hey,

You must be really bored

I can relate. The Studio has several painted armies.

These are normally for display, but they dust them off for photo shoots.

Apparently, there was no one Nid army with all the figs they needed.

I'm sure they don't really care, since it's just an ols show-and-tell.

If you really want an example of "wrong" see Codex: Chaos Marines pg50.

Now, I ask you - What's wrong with this picture?

Would it be the Thousand Son marine with the Plasma gun he haven't been able to use for what, 8 years now?

Just a random guess as I don't have a chaos dex at hand.

@Phyros - the scale is definitely off, just very bad photoshopping or an attempt to make the Tyrant look bigger.
The different fleet colours don't bother me that much, as I dislike most 'Eavy Metal 'Nid armies equally and couldn't care less if they were painted in bright pink, dark pink or liquorice blue. :p

Hehe, all those excessive spaces in your posts make them look like poetry.

Warhammer

Roll a dice to decide the fate

Of plastic warriors, created by your hands.

And watch how their lifespan

Is severely shortened by your opponent's nasty big tank

Or his Dakkafex.

umm yeah i noticed the plague marine wielding what seems to be a heavy bolter and thought it odd.

but i'm sure that its just a normal bolter as it looks a little on the small side to be a Heavy bolter.

first.... they didn't even care to actually show 3 different guard minis... when we all know they have 3 painted for their studio army. They just showed the same photo of the same mini TRICE.

second thing, the mixing of different hive fleets is :wtf: at best. And they even took a tyrant with a similar pose to the guard clones so the image would look even more boring.

and at very least, they mixed up the scale. Yeah, the guards are to small.

Way to go GW, that is the way to make professional images. Not that it would matter that much, but I'm mildly amused by this image :)

According to all the responses they give? It's a Kai Gun.

Yes folks, apparantly Chaos Marine squads with the Mark of Nurgle carry Kai Guns. See pages 30 and 31 of Codex: Chaos Space Marines as well. And Index Asartes : Death Guard. They're not heavy bolters, they're Kai Guns.

Sometimes I don't think any department of GW talks to any others...

Oh and indeed Noes, someone put together a shoddy photoshop for the store.

Well, this obviously shows how GW has absolutely no respect for its customers, and leaves me with no choice but to delete my accounts on every single GW forum I have ever posted on, send dozens of bile-filled letters and emails to the company, then ritually destroy every one of my models and codexes on a bonfire while poking an effigy of a Redshirt and chanting "Burn, Kirby, Burn!".

Rampaging has it right. They're different colours. Who the hell gives a crap?! Does it make a difference? Are people going to die because of it? Is it going to send GW out of business or something? No, no and no!
Who cares? Go to a forum called 'People who like to make a big deal about stupid *****!'

Want another, "what's wrong with this picture"? Try witchhunters codex where SoB and Smurfs are in the same army in one of the colour pictures... Dear oh dear... I wonder if people lose their jobs for this kinda behviour? Its quite unprofessional, and well... They are getting paid and that is the definition of professional...

If the Witch Hunters were allies of the Marines and not vice versa, it's totally legal.

BOOYAH!

Aww, I think my soul just shrunk a little.
