The talisman of protection is a waste of 15 points. A 6+ Ward save is highly unlikely to save you from anything. I would just save my points for something more useful, like:

Drop both Handgunner units to 10 models each.
Give one Unit a 5 Model Detachment of either Archers (they skirmish and can move and shoot) or Crossbowmen (30" Range, but no Armor Piercing).

That will round you out a bit (for an all shooting list anyway).

I personally dislike the master engineer however, if you do want to take him then remove the talisman because it will not really help, lower your handgunner to 10 in each unit and give the unit champ repeater handguns. Also in this game (only 500points) I would say the mortar would be effective.

i be.ive this is illegal as you can only have one special or rare choice in your army not one of each

If this is following rules for Border Patrol, you are only allowed 1 special or rare choice, and maximum of 1 war machine and no models over 125 points.

Its not been noted so this army is perfectly legal until the possibility of it being a Combat Patrol is mentioned by the OP.

I'm a bit worried that you have a lack of anything CC. I would personally swap your Engineer for a Captain and get a small unit to accompany him with the points saved from dropping the other units strength to 10, i possible.
