Hey, I have been following a number of projects here for a couple of months and I thought I would show you all my project (more like an experiment) and hope to get some comments and criticisms.

My idea came from, I think, the chaos mammoth from forgeworld. Anyways, I found the dinosaur in a 2$ shop for 2$ so I thought I would give it a shot and see what I can turn it into.

Here is the dinosaur before hand: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/cheaky-nurgle/dino-1-500.jpg

My first (dodgy) attempt at adding a platform

added the side platform things (so they can reach the ground with their pikes)

Fixed the top platform, and added defences)

My first attempt at using epoxy putty (I don't have enough money for greenstuff . I was thinking the scales looked more like rocks, anybody got any suggestions of how to make them look more scale-ish I would be grateful).

Here is a complete pic :

This image shows my first spearman and the platform where the driver (or whatever you call it will sit). I am not sure what I am going to do with the top, whether I should add a roof, or that might make it look too bulky. I am planning on adding 2-3 spearmen on each side (depending on how many spare I have, and a number of archers on the back)

Here is another shot, and you can see my attempt at plate mail :P I thought the neck might have needed some protection :)

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g27/cheaky-nurgle/dino-9-800.jpg

I am planning on adding shields from different armies and stuff (skaven, chaos and other enemies) as well as other battlefield debris to the defences on the platform. I would also like to add spikes or something to the legs and I've made a rope ladder that I will add to the back when I am done. And finally (for now) I would love to figure out a way that the tail could be controlled (and thus used to hurt people :P). Right now, this is just a modelling project. If I can get some rules for it (some people have suggested that i modify the steggadon from lizard men, but I am not certain.)

Any comments/criticisms would be very much welcome. Thank you

PS: did not realize there was a limit on images per post

Cool project! Very impressive.

'Bout the scales, just try to make them pointier.

One question though.. why does the Empire have an ankylosaurus? I thought them having a dragon was strange.. :D

Maybe they stole one from lustria? :P

I think the stonelike look works: a heavily armoured hide would be handy in a battle.

Still somewhat unlikely. Perhaps if you mechanise the beasty up by giving is pistons, armoured plating and the like as well as improving the howdah by adding armoured plates, perhaps steam engines....

Otherwise it just looks pretty bland and inappropriate for the Empire.

Still somewhat unlikely.

Not if it's part of an ongoing expedition to Lustria.

Yeah, there was an awsome lizard type thing that someone posted on CMON and it had rock armour on its back :) That looked pretty cool too. It would be cool if I made it look as if some earth wizard cast some spell or something and gave the animal extra armour in the form of rocks :P

Yeah, one of my origional ideas was to make a army that worshiped nature, and thus used no black poweder/machines or anything of that kind. I am still tossing up that idea. But I think it could work well if it is done right.

Thanks for the comments :)

I finally got back from my field trip and I have an small update. I started to add some militia to the platform.

I wanted to use bowmen insted of crossbow men, but I want to use all my archers in a regiment and I can't loose any. But I still think it looks ok. I am going to add one more militia and perhaps a druid or something on the back if i can find a cheap one.

I was thinking of making some bolts to put in the top part so it looks as though they don't just have one. Does anyone have any idea how to do this? Thanks

Nice, I like your scales. Imo they don't look like rocks but rather look like a hard hide, good job!

Is this a gaming peice or purely for mshow. in any case it looks well cool.
Whats the fluff for having this beatie then?

An Expiditionry army to Lustria? A Southlands Settlement?

You know what that thing needs? A warmachine. A cannon or mortar. That would be cool................

I'll be honest mate and say I really dont like it. Its well built and its a credit to your skill, its just I would rather have a normal warmachine or perhaps a steam tank which I build you could build if you set your mind to it..
