just a little practice for my next 200 goblins...

thanks for looking

nice painting but if you use that level of detail on 2 pointss of goblin you will hang yourself by the end of the week :D

07-09-2006, 06:09
Given Tensions efforts in the past, that amount of detail on a whole horde of goblins wont phase him too much.
This will be another one to watch closely.
Looks like a good way to start off.

07-09-2006, 06:35
Nice start, good luck with the horde.

07-09-2006, 08:24
If your whole army is going to look like that it will be awesome.

07-09-2006, 09:12
Indeed, very good luck with these :), you've started off excellently.

I trust your chaos has taken a backseat these past few months? I won't pressure you, but I really loved them, and wouldn't mind seeing some more :D.

Fantastic work as always,

Awesome mate, I tought you had left us for a while there. A truly impressive return and I hope to see more soon.

Looking good so far tensions, I like the paint job. I like the look of the blue swirls on the back of the cloak.

Good luck with the other 200 or so.

Oh my god! :D It's very good done, I arn't even close to doing that good! And your chaos armys was looking good to, I'll follow this thread closely :D

07-09-2006, 18:55
Ooooh, atlast we will get to see a Fantasy greenskin thread where something might actually happen and look good!
I hope you realize how dead you will be by the end of that army and how you will puke when you pick up a brush near a gobbo.
Anyways, you will have a fantastic horde when you'r done with this, I will keep my third eye on this thread.

thanks for the comment

I was a bit busy and lazy in the past few months, hardly painted anything...
but i DID buy a lot of new models.. a dwarf and a tau "army" to be exact.

they are not painted at all, and i'm not planning to paint them for a little while, so i probably won't show their pic to scare you all.. :D

i'm planning to paint this little night goblin army up for next year tournament, aiming for best painted army..:)

anyway, i decided to start off with a little 1000 points army first, since i still got my 10k mortal chaos and 10k daemonic legion, and i'm going to be more hard out when the eldar come out!! i will have "a lot" to paint.

i already ordered 2 boxes of battle of skull pass for myself, so my first army list will base on those.

thanks for looking

08-09-2006, 02:40
Well, it won't be that bad when the new book comes out, because they will be 3 points a peice (4 with spears), part of the reason why I won't be getting a Night Gobbo horde. :(

08-09-2006, 05:17
Wow, you have a large dwarf and tau army as well?

:D ...do you buy every army that comes out/released from GW? it very much seems like...

10-09-2006, 11:29
i finially got my hand on my first box of battle for skull pass,
i wasted no time and go straight into painting.

the main problem with the goblins are their bloody mold lines, there are so many of them and very visitable, so i have no chose but to remove all the mold lines one at a time.. (took me a VERY long time)

DAY 1 progress:
painted a goblin boss and a extra normal goblin today

thanks for looking

I know what you mean about the mould lines, I assembled and de-mould lined all of my goblins in one day. Took quite a while but it was worth it. Just starting painting them today.

Yours look fantastic, are all of them going to have the blue tint on the left of thier faces? (Thier left), great work anyway.

10-09-2006, 12:07
could you possibly tell us what your recipe for them was painting-wise?

10-09-2006, 22:36
this thread is deffo gona be worth watchin. lookin great dude, cant wait to see more :D

11-09-2006, 03:43
These are gonna be great.

11-09-2006, 09:02
Dude they look awesome, I find it hard to fathom how people can paint so many models to such a high standard in such a short time. I am lucky if I can paint 1 Clanrat a day.

Keep up the good work.

11-09-2006, 19:21
anychance on a quick run through of what colours/ methods you used to paint the gobbos?

11-09-2006, 19:31
Looking really good mate...

Are you ever tempted to paint the first rank to A+++ standards and slack of on the ranks behind? ;)

11-09-2006, 20:53
He did something like that with his Merauders, although the only thing he omitted on the rear rankers were the tatoos, which I can understand, seeing as he did like 25 of em for the 1 unit.

lovin them, spesh the half blue face, this is gona be a neat army if u finish it.

24-09-2006, 10:43
Looking good, i did a 1000 point army of night gobbos close to that standard as well a few years back, but couldne keep up the momentum to finish a 2000. Good Luck sir.

P.S. I did the half blue thing as well for the faces, but changed the markings for each unit, using different halves, stripes and quarters. You doing something similar?

25-01-2007, 01:44
i didn't touch my night goblin little horde for too long,
so i decided to work a little bit on it.

just finish of my first 20 night goblins... took me a while to get them all done..

DAY 3 progress

They are looking good!

25-01-2007, 05:01
They look fantastic, a whole army of these guys would be breathtaking.

Are you still planning on doing the whole army or are you just finishing off what you started?

25-01-2007, 07:33
Build the army over time; it'd be fantastic with that level of detail.

25-01-2007, 15:03
Stunning. Please make a quick follow up with fanatics for the unit!

25-01-2007, 17:49
These are fantastic Tensions, very characterful, superb painting! :D

25-01-2007, 18:49
excelent painting, well done, i just hope i can get mine looking somewhat near to your's...

26-01-2007, 23:16
I always enjoy seeing your painting, tensions. :)

26-01-2007, 23:34
Nice work! Now just do 200 more of those and you've got an army!

But really, nice paintjob, makes me wanna paint some.

27-01-2007, 10:28
thanks for the kind comments..

i'm planning to build up this little army slowly this time..
instead of charging through like i use to...

my plan is to spend around $25 USD per week on this army, and aiming for 2000 points..

this is roughly what i'm going to have in my army:

Skarsnik and Gobbla

1 night goblin boss
2 night goblin shaman

40 night goblins with spears + 3 Night Goblin Fanatics
40 night goblins with spears + 3 Night Goblin Fanatics

20 night goblins with bows + 1 Night Goblin Fanatics

4 Night Goblin Squig Herders
10 Squig Hoppers

6 trolls or giant

thanks for looking

Respect for anyone who paints horde armies to such a high standard (and is it NMM on the Boss' sword? Gosh). I'll be watching your descent into madness with interest.
