Nope, I am in Switserland at this moment, far away from home and my local store. Tough I don't intend to buy the set anyway. The rulebook is good enough for me.

I already have the set the models are amazing, i cannot wait to start playing.

Bought it yesterday. The gobbos will make a very nice addition to my O&G army. The Dwarves I'm undecided on. While not the greatest models ever, they're still better then the old Dwarves. And I may or may not start a Dwarf army. If I do, they'll make a nice start. Plus I can always hide them in the rear.

I got mine on the 7th. A friend will use most of the models.

And are you happy with it?

deamon
09-09-2006, 19:38
got mine on th 5th,

overall happy with it the models arn't bad and the small rule book is nice
a little dissapointed with the skull pass booklet, I was hoping for scenerios more
like Battle For Macarge, instead all we get is 'training exercises'

overall a good value if you play dwarves or O&G

Yeah, picked mine up and swapped so have two lots of dwarves (and my friend has two lots of gobbos). We managed to get everything assembled so quickly, we'd bought our sets and played two games by 1pm. Great day in the store today, I must say. Squig Cake!

*raises hand* Me. I'm using the dwarfs to start a new army, and giving the gobbos to a friend in trade for the dwarfs from the box he bought.

But i'm not going to buy it!

It's a more diplomatic way of saying "no, now shut up", silly. ;)

As for me... Well, look above. :D If I was likely to get the stuff painted, then perhaps. As it is now... Nope.

Check out the night gobbo archer boss, the one with his hood down..he s marked out for better things.

got mine today for my b'day yesterday. I'm enjoying the simplicity of the model (take off mold lines. put into base.) but am rather bored of the 'organised' squad formations. i prefer 40k in that respect.

Got it and love it. Wish someone would have swapped with me so I got more gobbos though. I do have 20 :p spiders though but, no archers.

I'll only buy it when my brother moves out an takes the rulebook with him, I was taking a look at the models though and you get some good stuff in there, anything with a pony(or is it a mule?) in it is worth whatever people are asking for it.

hertz
09-09-2006, 23:22
its a pony.

No, the Skull Pass website specifically refers to it as a "Grudge Pony".

"Grudge Pony".

Why does that sound like a naughty website that spams your inbox?

Splagbot
10-09-2006, 01:51
Grudge Pony, you gotta love those Dwarfs.

I got it yesterday, shouldn't have bothered, the little rule book will come in handy, but the models apart from the Pony are just plain bad, it's just not worth buying for one model.

Don't know what I'm going to do with the Goblins, I hate the little buggers, if only someone had some dwarfs they didn't want.

Starscream1138
10-09-2006, 02:44
I haven't bought it myself, but my brother who is a big Warhammer fan has.
As far as the models being bad goes I really couldn't agree. For one parters I think they're of pretty good quality.
All you have to do is compare them to models from the fifth edition and earlier boxed sets as proof of that, look at the Goblins and High Elves out of the fourth edition, there's no comparison.

I was suppose to buy 2 today, but both dwarf buyers weren't present. :(

10-09-2006, 04:50
I bought 3 boxes of it today for Dwarfs.

Traded 1 set of goblins for a set of Dwarfs. Then I traded some other gobbos and one rulebook and my 4 grudge ponies (they were heinously high demand at my store) for 5 boxes of Mordheim Terrain.

I'm so hideously stoked about it :)

I got mine at midnight...It is great.

I thank all person's involved in the making of skull pass. You all rock.

Thank you very much for making goblins, goblin size again.

I was really hoping for some rules with the grudge pony, idol of mork and the tied up slayer though...

i picked up 2 boxes yesterday - as matter of interest how busy was your gw shop yesterday?

gW Dublin was nuts - they opened midnight on Friday - with a queue of 150 people outside - Sat morning was incredibly busy 50-60 people in th shop at 10am and at 4pm (they were doing a raffle there must have been 300 people in and outside the store (you couldnt actually get into the store...)

Ive been in retail for 15 years and I've never seen anything quite like it - next sales figs should be interesting....

I picked it up for the gobbos, but couldn't trade my dwarfs. Still, I might be able to unload them in the future.

Quite possibly picking up another set next payday - I really like the smaller goblins, and especially dig that they're one-part. Multi-piece is great for 40k, but when you're dealing with 70+ goblins, you've got enough work already.

Oddly enough my local Indy store was pretty empty. In fact, they didn't even order any starters beyond the 6-7 for those of us who've preordered them :wtf:

It's like they don't want people to start the hobby.

Would they have been busy if they had shelves of the boxed set? I thought it would have been a better stock to get in, but did they still have boxes of 6th edition unsold.

I picked up mine on the day. I figured it was a good excuse to start a dirt-cheap goblin army. After I trade the dwarfs for a second set of BfSP goblins and then buy a third set of BfSP goblins from another friend, that's around 1800pts already. :D

I pre-paid both skull pass and the rulebook. The reason was that if you prepaid, you got a free grab-bag full of bitz. I got a whole SM Rhino, several dryads, 2 dice boxes, IG Heavy Weapon sprue, 3 Balthasar Gelt(1 complete, 2 incomplete) 1 Wolf Lord, 1 Logan Grimnar, 1 Wolf Priest, 1 Plague Marine, 1 Grey Knight, 2 Netters, 1 Grot, 1 Gnoblar, 1 Ar-Ulric, 1 Ork Warboss with missing arms and head, upper part of Valten, 1 Boar, 2 Warhorses and alot of other spare parts... :D

I'm real glad I pre-paid!

I havent bought it but I have to admit this must be the best value starter set that GW have ever produced.
- The units are suitablly diverse.
- You have all the rules and accessiores you need to play
- A generous amount of miniatures and easy to assemble (although some of the dwarfs look pants)
- I cant think of better and simpler way to enter the hobby, now why couldnt they have done that in the eighties! (showing my age):)

Did every pre-payer receive such a huge bag?

I will get mine around christmas. The only reason at the moment is for the figures. At the prsent time I will still be using 6th edition rules and codex but I will implement rules that I think are better, like the wizard rule where only those dice generated by that wizard and the pool can be used by the character.

I got mine around midnight on friday night. Why? Well, I took part in an "all nighter" tournament to commemorate the release at my rogue trader store! We started at 7 pm, played 2 games under 6th edition and at midnight, got skull pass, paint set and as a surprise... all the players got a free limited edition fanatic. GREAT! We then played 3 more games... It was awesome!

On a similar note, I'mt old that a GW store had their shipment sent to another state and as such, won't be getting any in... :wtf:

Granted this came from an indy store owner and the one GW store I did visit had their copies in...

But whatever, I've got my three boxes and that's all that counts! :D

Send picture of fanatic. I bet it is the plastic one they used to ship in the old goblin boxed set with NG archers and common goblin spearmen.

Nope... its the limited edition metal one. The blister mentions "Warhammer Night Goblins 2006". I guess the store wanted to give a bonus to the nutcases who played all night!
