Or at least that is the size of the base that the new giant comes with (I am not sure if they have bothered to update the "official base size" table, and I never remember where it is on GW site).

My giant will stay on a 50x50mm base though, thank you very many (once I manage to get it painted, that is).

Well, 50 by 75?? It could be what's needed because of the walking pose, spacing of the legs picked by GW. OR it could be to prevent a "Mr. Tips over" model due to faulty design. I'm thinking I will be NOT checking out and buying one of the new giants after all.

I have my old-school Marauder Miniatures Giant mounted on a 60x40mm base, but I made that one myself. It originally came with a 40mm base.

As I said: Made it myself.

60x40mm card-board, 3x2 20mm bases on top of that, some putty to fill in the cracks and slots. We didn't have none of these fancy-scmancy slot-less bases in those days. You got the diagonal ones or you got nothing.

There is no giant like Marauder giant! I bought mine second-hand a few years ago, and it was mounted were crampedly on a 40x40 mm base - I re-based it with a 50x50 mm one on which it fit more comfortably.
