WBBL Members, subscribe to this thread!

Okay, first things first. Do NOT post here unless you are a staff member. It's an important thread which will contain updates on rules, tournaments etc. and doesn't need to be cluttered.

The basics
FUMBBL is an online Blood Bowl league open for everyone who wants to join in, using a java applet created by SkiJunkie, whoever that is. The WarSeer Blood Bowl League or WBBL is a league on FUMBBL of WarSeer members. It was set up a while ago and is now being completley redone. Any WarSeer member is welcome to join.

Setting up
1. Register on FUMBBL (http://fumbbl.com/)
2. Download the Blood Bowl rules (http://specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/assets/lrb/LivingRulebook4.pdf) (6.2MB) from the Specialist Games website.
3. Download and install Java (http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download.html#sdk) if you don't have it already.
4. Download and unzip BBOnline (http://javabbowl.no-ip.org/).
5. Get Mozilla FireFox (http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/) if you're not already using it (not necessary but FireFox is great)
6. Get an IRC extension if you don't already have one (I recommend Chatzilla (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/)).
7. Read the FUMBBL User Guide (http://fumbbl.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index), create a team and start playing!

League information and announcements will be posted here by staff (currently me and Autobot-HQ). General discussion should be posted here (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51868) and Proposals here (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51870).

Format of the WBBL
The WBBL is split into two divisions of about 8 teams each - Premiership (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=3507) (higher) and Division 1 (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=3935) (lower). There is also a Conference (http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=group&op=view&group=3936), but this isn't a real division, just a place for newbies to play each other in until a season ends and they are put into Division 1. Each user may have ONE team in the WBBL. Not one per division, one and one only. Each division will have one admin, if either of us are away we will appoint a deputy.

Each division plays regular round-robin tournaments, in which everyone plays everyone. These are limited in time by allowing two weeks per match. After every two tournaments, the season ends. At this point the top 8 teams in the Premiership play a knockout tournament for the coveted WarSeer cup, the top two point-scorers of division 1 move up to the premiership and the bottom two of the premiership are relegated to division 1. If division 1 is bigger due to newbies joining at this point, more than 2 teams may be promoted to keep the divisions of even size. Points are given as follows: 3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a lose. Forfeited matches give 0 points to the loser and 3 to the winner.

Contact is incredibly important in the WBBL, and has caused it to fail in the past. I STRONGLY advise you to have a MSN address you are willing to share with the league - it is the best place to quickly find and talk to an opponent. PM on FUMBBL is the other contact system to use.

When fixtures are up for a tournament, you will all be PM'd. At this point you should IMMEDIATELY contact your opponent, via MSN if they are online, if not via PM stating your availability and giving possible match times. If they do not respond, contact your division's admin and they will handle it. If they miss a match time you have agreed on, contact the admin, giving a full account of PMs sent and received, agreed times, steps taken to resolve the issue and so on. Though we expect missed matches to be the main cause of disputes, this is the course of action for ANY problem.

If you know you will be away for a match or two, contact your admin with full details as early as possible. They will look at each case individually and make a decision on whether to allow a delay.

Other rules
1. You MUST NOT play games with your WBBL team against non-WBBL teams. You are welcome to play non-tournament games within the WBBL but not outside.
2. No races other than those in the LRB.
3. No Wizards and no Star Players. Freebooters are fine, though.
4. Write a match report, or at least some comments, on every league game you play.

To join, follow the steps outlined in the first part of this thread and then PM me on FUMBBL. The team you create to play with must be of a race from the LRB and have Fan Factor of at least 5.

What happens now?
The first new-style WBBL tournament will start at the beginning of November. Between now and then I will finish starting all these threads, finalise the rules and create the three divisions on FUMBBL. You may use an existing team or start a new one, but you may have only one team. Contact me, telling me what team you want to keep. EVERYONE MUST GIVE ME A MSN ADDRESS, WARSEER USERNAME AND FUMBBL USERNAME, EVEN IF YOU THINK I ALREADY HAVE THEM. This will be added to a list sent out to every WBBL member.

Questions should be put in the general discussion thread or sent to me on MSN or via FUMBBL PM.

We need a design for the WarSeer cup. Send them to me via Hotmail or attach to the General Discussion thread. i'll see if I can convince nick to produce a 'Champion' or 'Cupholder' custom title for the winner each season.

17-10-2006, 23:18
You've all been invited to the appropriate division. I will be the admin for Premiership, Iscariot for Division 1. The conference will not be active until we have newbies waiting to join. The first set of tournaments will begin on Monday 30th October. I am allowing one week per round, but this may increase depending on how the first couple of rounds go.

20-10-2006, 15:50
Flash new forum! So we can now have polls for decisions, without as much chance of non-members voting. Nick has also approved the use of a 'cupholder' title, to be given to the winner each season.

Tournaments are now up!

I sent a group PM, it's basically just a reminder that you have until November 10th to play your first round matches. Queries and problems go to me for Premiership (MSN for preference, or FUMBBL PM) and to Iscariot for Division 1. A list of contact details will be Group PM'd shortly.

This means you, Division One.

Right, well, Winter B has started ahead of schedule but that's okay, I think we might need the extra time as matches slow down over Christmas. Three announcements today:

1) Winter B first round matches to be completed by Sunday 10th December (not that that should be a problem).

2) As was agreed in the revamping of the league in October, me and Autobot-HQ/Iscariot will be appointing deputies to administrate the league if we are away. I need someone to volunteer to manage the Premiership from the 20th to the 27th December, because I am in Norfolk for Christmas.

3) I'm still looking for a WarSeer Cup design, MS Paint is fine as long as it looks worth having.

10-12-2006, 21:46
WE need a meeting at the end of December/start of January. By that time the KO Cup Tournament and its Div 1 counterpart will be completed or nearing completion and we need to discuss moving teams, points, tournament lengths etc. as well as any other issues that have come up this season.

Please PM me (FUMBBL) stating what days you are available for an MSN meeting (UK late evening probably) from Friday 29th December to the Friday after that. I'll get as many people in as possible.

Could you all give good ratings to the official WBBL threads? I don't usually bother with thread ratings but some idiot has been through here rating them all 1 star, and it makes us look bad.

Points 2) and 3) in the above post still need dealing with.

The Premiership Winter Season is over!

1st: Athletico Middenheim (Gres)
2nd: Kharadrim Medics (Keravin)

NOTE: Due to TD difference issues, I'm not sure who's first and who's second. Bear with me please.

3rd: Foul Peak Frenzy (skinnydookie)
4th: WarSeers (Yorkiebar)

The WarSeer Cup tournament has started, but please DON'T play your games without telling everyone the date/time in advance so we can spectate. There's no rush at all.

A mini-meeting in MSN (don't worry if you missed it, nothing has been decided - in fact we're not even past the proposals stage) has brought up some possible major changes. To summarise:

The Division 1ers dont like Premiership because Division 1 has a more enjoyable atmosphere. Personally, I agree.

This means the Premiershippers are a bit alone and uninvolved.

The Premiershippers don't want to cut down their beloved teams or abandon them for new ones to join Division 1.

The Premiershippers can't join Division 1 as they are because they'd pwn everyone.

I want everyone to post ideas on solving this pickle in the Proposals thread.

A poll is up here (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61100). We'll make a decision around the end of December when I'm back from holiday.

05-01-2007, 20:58
I decided that using MSN for scheduled group meetings was stupid. See you all (I hope) in the #warseer IRC channel within #FUMBBL for the meeting.

Please vote here. (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63505) The most voted option will be put into effect for the Spring Season, hopefully starting on Monday.

08-01-2007, 13:13
Well, majority rules, even if it was by one vote. At least for this season, we're using one team each in one group, though main tournaments will be split into two TR sets. As soon as the Premiershippers decide which of their teams they're going to withdraw (but not retire - it's always possible we may change again in future), I'll start a KO tourney of all 16 active teams (i.e. everyone except Ixajin) for the WarSeer Cup.

08-01-2007, 18:06
...so whats the TR split going to be? Would like to know before I further skill my team.

...so whats the TR split going to be? Would like to know before I further skill my team.Bad th0r! Posting in the Announcements thread! But since you ask, it'll be whatever works at the time. I'll try to minimise the TR difference between teams in the same section.

Bad th0r indeed, I mean that's a totally valid question but you shuld never post in this thread unless it's relevent to the announcements and...

....oh wait

....damn, oh the irony

The WarSeer Cup tournament is up and running! As far as I know everyone who has been entered is active (though Ixajin is more easily contacted on WarSeer than FUMBBL, and skinnydookie has been off for a couple of days). Teams were seeded by TR so that the games will get more tense as time goes by. If anyone does want proof that it's not biased, note the fact that I'll probably end up playing against Foul Peak Frenzy. :(:(:(

Please contact your first round opponent to organise the game ASAP, thanks. We'll aim to have the first round played over the weekend but there's no problem with extending it up to a week depending on how available people are.

20-01-2007, 18:18
Please remember your time is up to play first round matches after this weekend - Monday night at the latest. PMs will be sent to the users concerned. If matches aren't played on time those who don't respond to the PMs will forfeit.
