Hello

I've been going through my current armylist to decide which of my many miniatures should be painted first. This is my plans so far:

Characters:

Mercenary General
Heavy armour, Sword of might, Enchanted shield
126p

Paymaster
Heavy armour, Shield, Amulet of protection
76p

Captain
Mounted on pegasus
Heavy armour, Shield, Lance
110p

Wizard - Lvl 2
Dispel scroll
120p

Core units:

20 Pikemen
Full command, Heavy armour
250p

20 Pikemen
Full command, Heavy armour
250p

12 Crossbowmen
Champion, Musician
116p

12 Crossbowmen
Champion, Musician
116p

Special units:

20 Paymaster's bodyguard
Full command, Heavy armour
230p

12 Halflings
Champion, Musician, Bows
92p

Rare units:

Cannon
85p

Hot pot
50p

That makes 1611p total last I counted. What should I do with the remaining 389p? (And of course, is there anything else that could be changed?)
I'm trying to make the list as versatile as possible, and I've noticed so far that while I have some good shooting and solid infantry, I really need some heavy hitters and maybe some light cavalry (to complement the pegasus) or some duellists to protect against skirmishers and such. I though about heavy cavalry, but I think I'd rather use ogres. Would I be better of with a, ordinary ogres with great weapon, b, ironguts or c, maneaters. And what would be the optimal unit size? Is there worth taking full command in a unit of, say, four ironguts?
Comments?

Very cool list so far. A few things I would recommend.

I would consider getting rid of the halflings, and instead getting lumpin croop's fighting cocks. They are skimishers, and I think they would serve you better then a regular unit of 12 halflings. Just a thought. I mean, what are you going to do with a block of halflings? Only the front rank is going to shoot, and I think in a unit that big their movement through woods will be wasted. Why not go with a smaller, more mobile unit of skirmishers with bows and a hero to boot? They also have bs 4 and lumpin has bs 5. much better choice I think.

Also at first glance, you are very vulnerable to magic heavy armies. Magic missles could easily tear apart your crossbowmen and skirmishers. You really don't want that happening since they provide some nice shootyness to your army. You have too little magic defense, so I (making your list on army builder) dropped the captain on the pegasus, and got a another level 2 wizard with two dispell scrolls. Now you have 6 casting dice, 4 dispel dice, and 3 scrolls. Not great, but now you can be a little less afraid of enemy magic.

I added two units of duelists with pistols and musicians. They are very flexible, and with pistols they can take out light cav, skirmishers, and go warmachine hunting. Very flexible.

I would throw in a unit on ironguts with a musician (bellower). They could really give your army a punch, and would be nice if you could get a flank charge with them. I would't bother with a standard though.

I had some extra points and gave a pistol to the general, and a crossbow for the paymaster. The list now comes out to 1999.

I would add some duelsits and maybe some light cav with bows for more shooting. Also, im not a great believer in the pegasus captain, so i would probably swap him for another mage.

You could use Lupin fighting cocks, but they are very expensive for their size and die nearly as easily.
