um... so no... this is not a horde...

so drop the level 2 on your scroll caddy...
drop the great weapons on the warriors... HW shield > GW... and cheaper...
drop bows, and standard on your wolfboyz...
run your hobbies without armor... you could have twice as many... and definitley no commands...

points saved gets your warrior unit up to 25...
get a second bolt thrower...
get a command for your sneaky gitz and 5 more of them...
that second unit of 20 hobbies... the best armor for hobbies is more hobbies...

yes changing banner is a good idea... buys you a second scroll...
or better yet leave it home... buys you another unit...
and no the earth shaker is far superior to the bull centaurs...

Keep the armor and command on your hobgoblins. If you can make them 25, by dropping the worthless archers, do so.

Hobos are great road blocks. A hobogoblin unit with nothing on it will break fast to a really horrid charge on them.

Dump the sneaky gits, and get another bolt thrower.

These are all my opinions of course.

CD are pretty boring and crappy the lower the points. They are a high points type of army. Best of luck to you!

advising 30 point commands on 2 point models? surely you jest...
no wonder you have problems at lower point levels...
CDs can be an effective horde army at low point levels... if you dont add garbage to your sucky units...
more toys on the table... not on the hobgoblins...

Chaos Dwarf units are only meant to have Blunderbusses.

Just take two units of 17 w/ full command and heroes and run them 6 wide by 3 deep.

Your fast cav should only have a musician.

Expect hobgoblins to die (otherwise how do you get your enemy into your 12" death zone infront of your blunderbusses) so just take 10 crap troops and let them die.

Also Great Weapons on Chaos Dwarfs is not as good as Black Orcs :)

Take 30 sneaky gitz and full command and the warbanner, it's a unit with a chance to win Combat and take them 7 wide since they are on 20mm bases.

Bull centaurs are power!

Chaos Dwarf units are only meant to have Blunderbusses.
BBs fold like flimsy cardboard in CC...
combined with poor range and inability to damage models with more than one wound...
they are a lack luster troop choice... and are expensive...
i field them only because i have the models...

Also Great Weapons on Chaos Dwarfs is not as good as Black Orcs
but they cost less... and are core...
Black orcs no longer quell animosity or have S7 champs... and their price was hiked...
personally paying more for my slaves makes me feel dirty...
but i'd just get shield warriors and leave the heavy hitz to the machines...

sneaky gitz cannot have a banner... lest it is held by a M3 CD BSB...

Earthshaker > Bull centaurs... especially in 7th ed...

I agree. BB units are not as great as people make them seem. You know how many times I have to fight Tomb Kings Chariot armies at my place, only to see my expensive BB unit deployed with nothing to do!

Once BB units recieve a charge, they fold fast. Hobgoblins with LA and Shields last longer, much longer!

Great weapons are only good on Bull Centaurs. But if you have to choose between a dwarf with GW and a black orc with GW, I would take the dwarves everytime.

For me, I don't compare Earthshakers with Bull Centaurs. They both fill different rolls. One charges into combat with str 6 weaponry, but ant recieve the hits as well, while the other slows entire flanks down to a crawl.

i don't think we'll carry this discussion over here intellect...
but i will say that below 2K bull centaurs should not be considered...
unless the list is dedicated cavalry...

I don't think a Chaos Dwarf list would work as cavalry, do you? I have never even thought of it.

If I were him, I would have both the Earth Shaker and the Bulls by dropping the sneaky gits.

it is a 1500 point list... one rare...

CD used to make a fine cav list...
minimum spent on dwarfs maximum spent on 4+ save wolfboyz... and BCs...
sadly tho it is not a great list any longer...

Off topic.... Sorry ... but wow, CD do make an awesome cav list!

Too bad I don't have the inclination nor the funds to create such an army. I may post my list up on here anyway :)

...

And oh yeah... I forgot the list was only 1500. I am so used to 2250 lists. I would say a block of 10 Bull Centaurs would seriously make me consider whether or not to take an earthshaker or not. As his list stands, the earthshaker seems better, but if he can drop teh sneaky points sinks he could get a few more bolt throwers, and then I would get a block of Bull Centaurs.

um why?
increase the gunline but take the main gun away?
for expensive models that outrun your entire army?

i believe the word horde was used... blast em till they come to you...
then engage with tarpits (warriors) and Flankers (gitz)...
