How long do you guys find your regular games last.

Last game I had 1500pts SM vs Tau seek and destroy (8''x4'' board) usual amount of banter, rules checking etc

Lasted about 2h 30min, thats from the first move until victory declared, doesnt include, setting up and tweaking lists etc just before start.

Just wondering if this is usual or a little on the long side, was just thinking, whats it like in turnaments for times or playng in GW store

A 1500pt game on a standard baord (6x4) would probably take a little under two hours normally. I'd probably do that start to finish though. A lot of it depends on how experienced the players are, if you have to continually stop to look up rules it will obvioulsy take longer. In the same way inexperienced players may take longer to decide what to do where an experienced player is quicker at making those sorts of decisions.

For me, usually under two hours for a standard game. Casual games are longer, Tournament games are shorter, on average.

usually 2 hours for 1500points, 1 hour and a wee bit for 1000, and about 40minutes for 500points or so, if my list is particularly nasty (like last week) then it is usually over within 3 turns, an hour i a 1500point game (i felpt kind of bad, but it was fun being the mean one for once!)

about 1-2 hours for 1.5kish game

reduce that number by 15 minutes for every enemy assault cannon ;)

It really depends on the two armies playing. At 1500- 1850 points the average is about 2 hours give or take including deployment and such. Time changes though if you have two horde armies, the game will run longer, two elite armies will have a shorter game, and a mix and match will run about the two hours

My friends and I usually play with a five minute rule in two thousand point games... That is, you have five minutes to finish compulsary moves and re-inforcements, move, shoot, and declare (though not complete your charges). At the end of the five minutes all the close combat is completed (however long it takes). But that means that a 6 turn, two player game takes about one and a half hours, assuming it actually takes five minutes for your turn (which is only usually the case with our newest armies).

for 1850 or 2k point games we usually take 2 hours barring things such as getting food and just leaving the game for some reason.

1850-2000, 2hours (with Marines, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Inq Armies)

With hordes (Horde nids, fotslogging guard, footslogging Orks) 3 hours.

That's my experience.

With everyone on the ball for a tournament, though, 1850 games go in 1.5- of course, there's much less chatting, etc.

And my experience is that any game with an armored company player cuts game length nearly in half- if they don't blast you off the table quickly, they don't have enough models on the table to stick around.

With my deathwing army, only about an hour, mainly because my terminators dont seem to want to turn up till turn 4

1000 point game, me VS Deathwing finished in under an hour. 2nd turn HQ came in and I killed it with a chaplain and asst squad charge, 2nd turn a squad came in shot, killed 2 asst marines, I charged with a 10 man squad, killed 2 with reg melee and he killed some marines, I lose combat, fail moral and they run off bourd. 3rd squad came, they killed my asst squad with shooting leaving only a dev. squad and predetor. They uber penetrated my pred then charged the DEvs. Needless to say, I lost but damn it was close.

Today I played 3000 points using Black Templars against my friend who was using Tyranids and Dark Eldar to make 3000 points, took us 4 hours and we only made it to turn 3. Then again, neither of us have played in a LONG time.

i remember the days of 2nd edition.......we'd play 3vs3, would take around 12 hours for 6k/side battle.....Epic/Titan Legions usually took about an hour/turn (we played 10,000+...usually closer to 15,000 per side
