Yes folks, i'm mad. I'm going to build a khorne force of approz three hundred marines.

Sounds pretty sweet, should amount to 6000 points on its own (with chainaxes, certainly would'nt like to see that across the board. Cant really make out the Lord though, he looks good but any chance of a close up picture?

OOOOOHHH I would SO love to see it played in a 4 way. Your entire army runs in totally different directions, hee hee hee!!!

However, that looks like a serious challenge. How are you going to make sure all the poses are different?!?!?

they don't have to be "diffrent" but just not the same. There isn't going to be 300 actual khorne boys.

20 temrs, 4 lord, 3 dreads, some raptors. overall bout 220-250 actual khorne dudes.

Oh, i'm building them from a mixture of khorne, chaos and marine parts, i hate the khornate beserkers. so very third edition ¬¬

George W. Bush probably has more chance of bringing peace to the Middle East than you do of completing 300 Khorne warriors. Still, I'll eat my words if you do manage it all! The Lord is looking pretty knarly even at this early stage!

Actually, if someone could bake this post into a tasty shortbread for the occasion, that'd be great.

As far as it goes, yes. But for the Dreadnought with the missile launcher. It's World Eaters, for the love of Khorne...

Plus, 1003 points isn't 1000. Drop the ML and you have a few points to play with... more gear/mutations/what-have-you on the Lord or a Champ, mayhaps?

although I wouldn't care if you spent 3 pts over the limit, I would drop the missile launcher anyway... it's not that khorny, not at all! but it's your army/mini after all, so you get to decide!

theres two ways you can play khorne,

the wussy way, which involves trying to fit heavy support and guns into a list that isnt designed for it.

and the PROPER, MANLY, MIGHTY way, which involved adhering to the following rules-

no tanks, no weapons in squads apart from chain weapons and pistols, dreadnoughts and maby defilers, with the dreadnoughts only ever equipped with one heavy weapon, probs even two cc weapons.

you might be able to tell from my wording which one i prefer!

Drop whatever you need to to give the DP feel no pain, especially as he's a nice statured target. I'd like to see more foot 'zerkers too, or at least give your 'zerker champs talisman of burning blood. Your measly 8-strong squads need to get moving and get into nice, warm, goey combat :D

I almost think 3 dreads is too much in 1k, as I would prefer 2 with mutated hulls and 1 heavy weapon max (generally lascannons).

Gawd, I've got maybe 30 berserkers, and painting them just gives me a PAIN. I can't see doing 300...

Also, what would you use that many for? I can't see how you'd fit more than maybe 200 into an army.

A theme following the frank miller 300 idea. My army isn't just bezerker bezerkers, i'm heavily converting everyone so they look both modern and unique. Oh i do plan to have dreads, A single defiler (for those guardsman and nids) and on that point scale 4 daemon princes and a thirster (force orgernisation chart is 1 lord per chart. this thing 'll cost between 6-8 thousand points so)

Sorry to be picky, but they were Spartans, not Trojans
