Is all well in the land of GW Mail Order? Free postage throughout July on orders over 75.

http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk

Clearly trying to fill in for the holiday dip in sales. Forgeworld's freepost deal must have worked very well.

Yay, spend 75 on stuff and save 2.50 on postage. Even going to someone that does a 10% discount (not hard to find) will save you more money than this.

I find it hard to imagine anyone wanting to order 75 worth of bitz.

I actually do need a lot of bitz. But perhaps not 75. I'll round up a friend perhaps.

Yeah its good idea, but perhaps if they lowered the price limit to say 50 pounds that would be better.
I couldnt really spend 75 pounds all at once anyway.

It's 4 for basic postage. I could easily fill a 75 order for bitz, components and individual minis. Affording it'd be the hard part. :)

I could easily order that much on Specialist games stuff alone which you can't get from Independents. At GW prices that'd soon rack up. 4 on a 75 order is about 5% discount.

The free postage isn't great, but it's still better than a poke in the eye from the Emperor's Pointy Stick.

You are right, perhaps am just too much of a cynic. ;) I guess it is OK for the stuff that can't be got in blisters. I wonder how much stuff I need for my Epic Eldar.....

What has worked for me/us, we formed a group for ordering. We ordered from indie mailorder merchants. Got a discount, ordered over $$XX minimum and got free shipping too.

Before ordering all money was laid on the table. the order was given in sections according to each person's selections. It was shipped to the address of the person who ordered for the group.

Um, a credit card saves days of waiting time. IF you all(the group) really trust each other, collect the full amount owed by each person at the time the ordeer is divided.

If you buy via the in-store Mail Order and spend over 25 it is free postage. Have used that myself many a time. Buy a Games Day ticket, and whatever else you order with it you don't pay postage for, as the ticket already took your order over the 25 mark. :D

To be honest if i was spending 75 i wouldn't be too bothered about a measy 4 shipping fee.

I guess it is better than nothing though!

But if you're that desparate to not pay shipping try driving to WW for less than 4!

It is still cheaper to buy from Nick than to order from GW Germany.

Have fun,

75 ? That's something like 150$ in real money ;) .
That's a safe offer for GW to make as I doubt much more than a small percentage of their online customers actually drop that kind of money in one go.
Pure clever marketing an nothing more......

Just for the sake of noting it, GW-US Online Store has been offering free shipping on orders over $100 that ship via ground transport within the continental USA for quite some time.

(Of course, TheWarStore (http://www.thewarstore.com/) offers free shipping on orders over $75 within the USA, and has a 20% discount on GW products......... )

I had forgotten about the free shipping (over $100 USA) in the USA. I don't deal direct with GW on-line/mailorder. IF GW starts offering special reduced (25%) prices (even on selected items) thru their mailorder/online OR in their stores......I won't be buying. Too many price hikes, the one yesterday finished it for me.

Hmm, over here we have and had free shipping at 100, for at least two years (that's as long as I'm in the hobby). That's roughly as high as 75, and in my experience, unless you pool with another person, you generally don't exceed that sum. (On the other hand I know someone who regularly does :p ) Though I'm thinking about ordering only every other month...
