View Full Version : Let me try one of these...

Since none of the more specific Project Logs have worked well for me (they died...), lets try a more generic one.

Currently, I am working on two armies. These are a Mechanised Imperial Guard force for 40k, and a Dwarf army for WFB.
In the near future I will also participate in a Mordheim campaign so I will chronicle the creation of my Witch Hunters here as well. I might even decide to finish my Ogres! Should that or something equally shocking happen, I will fill you in on the details right here.

And as I hate threads in MP&T without pictures in them (and I know you do too...), I'll just give you what you want...

That's right! I have gotten my grubby paws on some of the excellent FW Elysians! I got 55 of the little buggers to be precise! I won't be using them as Elysians though. Mine will be part of the Stygian 4th Mechanised Imperial Guard.
I figured the running and crouching poses of the Elysians would be perfect to represent Guardsmen in a highly mobile force. That, and it would require less of them to make a full army. ;)

So after looking around and seeing what other people had done with their Elysians (better to steal someone else's good idea than come up with your own crappy one I always say), I decided to go for this:

looking good, it'll be good to see your ogres when you get them done(need some motivation to get mine done):)

That's about all I have right now. I'll post more pics when I have more pics to post... Don't expect any regularity though, so just bookmark this thread if you want to know when I update it...

Any questions?

Thanks for the comments guys!

@spikyjames: I'll see what I can do for you. There are some pics of my ogres in my sig if you're interested.

@cpl_hicks: Which is why I like forums like these... Lots of cool stuff to steal. ;)

@AStador: I'll probably revisit my Dark Angels when the codex comes out. I'm still undecided on the type though. I think it all depends on the changes made to the army list. I'll stick to what I have for now. :)

those look great!! great color scheme, mind if i borrow it?

as for comments and crits, the black highlights look a bit sloppy in some areas, but it shouldnt be too hard to fix

and how did you do the green?

I know it sounds corny, but the black looks better in real life. ;)

The green recipe:

Catachan Green basecoat
Catachan Green/Camo Green 2:1 highlight
Catachan Green/Camo Green 1:1 drybrush
Camo Green drybrush
Camo Green/Rotting Flesh drybrush
Catachan Green glaze

I'll resurrect this thread instead of making another one. I expect more updates soon so this might be the best option.

I started work on my Mordheim Witch Hunters. Here's the first model. One down, ten more to go...

His name is Wilhelm in case you were wondering. ;)

And here are two of his mates. These guys are Zealots. I used the Militia Sprue in combination with the hairy head sprue to create mine as I didn't really like the metal models.
It just seems silly to me that men who have nearly lost their minds will go crafting hand puppets and signs.. That's what the flaggelants are for! :D
