Does anyone know if the mechanical steed for the empire engineer is a seperate model from the human rider? Thanks for any assistance.

I don't know for sure but I'm pretty certain that it is.

According to the pictures in the rumour round up, the legs seem to be cast on to the steed, while the upper body is a separate part.

I hope so. It'd be cool if GW made it in a couple different poses as well, so you could make a cavalry regiment mounted on them

Don't count on it. Almost all new metal steeds have the legs molded onto them(archaon, tyrion, Kislev tzar)

Which is pretty odd and clearly limits the possibilities to convert the miniatures. This annoys me just as much as the fact that the new Empire horses with the Outriders/Pistoliers don't come on seperate sprues...

Was at my friends that works as a red shirt's house last night & he already has the model & sadly I must confirm that the legs are moulded onto the stead.

Also the rider has what appears to be a clock work leg, lol!

It's actually a pretty good mini, I don't think the studio's paint job helped, maybe bronze or copper will suit it more.

I hope that'd be a conversion for a 40K unit ;)

Hmm, never thought if using it for a 40k conversion. Rough Riders etc. would look awesome!
