I recently moved to L.A. and am looking for a good gaming store or a group of friends who play. The stores i have found so far are, medicore at best with few fantasy players. I'm hoping for find a league to play in, however would be happy with just finding opponents. Would love to play in either a friendly or competetive enviroment.

I have 2500+ points of Druchii,
and 2500 + plus of Khemri.

If painting is a requirment my Druchii are about 90% done, and could be finished quickly. I have yet to start on the TK.

PM me, or post here.

The Southern California GW league (http://www.socalgwleague.com/) is getting ready to start a new league season in January. Contact Mike Garner, the league coordinator, and he can get you into the league if there is a spot.

Its rather nice in that it will gurantee you a fantasy game every two weeks.

As for store, there are lots in the area, Game Empire of San Diego, just opened a new store in Pasadena, GMI has a great store in Riverside, and Daloonie Shamon runs games out of his store in Alta Dena.

You also have the GW LA Bunker in Westminster, and lots of other GW stores throughout the area (I know of at least 5 GW stores in the area). Try out LA Gamers web site (http://www.lagamers.com). This is the official GW socal sight.

You also might try out the yahoo group for GW games: GW Socal (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/gw_socal/)

Above links added to the list I keep on the daemonic legion website. Nice post dragonlady.

In the thread below I also have links to a number of stores in that area that have hosted events.

Oh, I forgot that Adam and Friends have reopened http://www.leadership10.com These guys are both 40k and Fantasy players in the LA area.

As for my favorite shop, I actually commute from Orange County all the way to Riverside on a regular basis to play at GMI Games and Collectables (http://www.gmigames.com). But I don't believe that have any current leagues going on, but I always see pickup games going on.

Oh yeah, I also forgot the Socal GW Yahoo group, which is pretty active: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/gw_socal/

Here in Torrance there's all-day GW gaming at The Third Planet on Sundays and open gaming Monday-Wednesday. 4 tables up w/ terrain with a lot more to come (owner is commissioning one of the gamers to make terrain/boards).

We should be doing a campaign soon with hand drawn map and markers.

You can also check out Adventurer's Guild in Riverside as well. We're going through a Fantasy phase atm. Most of the people are new to fantasy and painting is definitely not required.

You can find AG's phone number in any White Dwarf.

Hey Zethal, a few quick questions:

> where are you currently residing at in the city of the Angeles?

> you near Burbank by any chance?

> you wish to be gaming competitively or just to have a good time?

Thanks. :)

@ Gabacho
I am currently residing in valley village, so yeah close to burbank 15-25 minutes depending on time of day and traffic.

I am interested in playing competitivley, however also enjoy leisurely games. It is a good chance to try out new things, and while i feel ready to play with my dark elves competitivley i still want more experience with my TK against varying opponents. Most of the experience with TK has been VC, new O&G, new Dwarves, woodies, and empire. Have not had the chance to play any brets, or any super magic heavy armies.
