I went to buy some 13th Co. Grey Slayers today and them son of  told me that is a direct order item from GW. :wtf: ?

You telling me that my boyz are already being discontinued even before I get to play em?

That makes me want to smash something.

Probably just means they are whoring the new releases and popular armies for shelf space. I bet Eldar and Vanilla / Templar Marines take up 3/4 of the 40k area, do they not? :p

EDIT : Just ask them to order them to the shop for you.

Oh woe. Now you know how the Valhallan players feel. I mean, selling kits for a campaign that finished 4 years ago? Shocking.

What's the prob? Direct sales is a fine service and doesn't mean immenent death of an army. It just means stores have better things to put on the shelfs. Like stuff that people buy.

Buy 1 SM box and 1 CSM box. Mix them. Youre happy.

I would always use Direct sales over the stores, more choice, no one hassling you and the service is very good and the after sales service is good too, if a sprue or something is missing, one email and you will have it delivered within 48 hours and an emailed apology.

Thats my experience of it anyway.

baneboss has it right. buy a chaos marine and space marine box to get the bits you need. ordering of direct order will cost more than that anyway

When one of my Chaos Space Marine boxes were missing the backpacks they sent me the backpacks and an entire box of CSM aswell! Service!

But they are already on the shelves! Chaos Space Marines and Space Wolves/Loyalists! Thats all the 13th Company boxes were!

Seriously though. If you don't want to direct order them, buy a box of blood claws and a box of chaos marines.

thats the way i did my 13th company. not only do you get more models, you also get more flexibility on how to build them. The "official" box sets are actually just steaming crap.

Never paid much attention to the 13th company,is it really cheaper to buy a Chaos space marine box and a grey hunters/blood claws box and just mix them?

if so then you would be insane not to do that!

Dunno if GW stores still do this, but I used to be able to mail order bits in-store, and have them delivered to store free of postage charges.. they just added them to the next stock delivery.

If you want as many models as possible with bolter and cc weapon, then go Blood Claws/Chaos Space Marines. I spent a fortune ordering bolt pistol and close combat weapon sprues for mine until I realised the error of my ways.

Errr no theyre not being discontinued, theyre just not widely available in the high street. No different than specialist games, mail order only items, splash releases or anything else! Anyway, the other guys have come up with the best solution :- get boxes of spacewolves and chaos. I'd probably get two boxes of spacewolves per one of chaos though, its not like you need *that* many chaos parts.

Space Wolves are an army i'd like to do someday, and 13th company are interesting, so what are the details of making 13th co models from blood claws and chaos marines? What bits from which box?

Sergeant Uriel Ventris

Space Wolves? If you ask me, they sound pretty close to Luna Wolves...and we all know about those bastards. Plus, mohawks are for punk rock wannabes, not champions of the Imperium. Also, SW's wet the bed. And when they wet it, it smells like wet dog. I hear they get trained with high-pitched whistles no other Marines can hear...and get squeaky mailmen to chew on if they're good.

...

...now I just sit back and see if any Space Wolf players take the bait...

I won't take the bait. Just to spite you. :)

rofl, just direct order them of buy the csm box set and a loyalist box set.

They havent been on the shelves for ages mate, most of those type of box sets were splash releases for the campaign they came from. As such there is no use keeping them around afterwards as GW believes that anyone who wants them would already have them or would order them if they want them that much.

QFT Gearux; You are so much better off buying a SW box and a CSM box than trying to get the 'official' boxes from GW.
