There will be 16+ players so I'm going for a all around army as some are first timers and I need to be prepared no matter what they bring.
I tried to go for a force that sat back and waited for the enemy all the while peppering them with handgunners and my cannon. Then to top it off a solid line of troops that can take a beating. The reasoning for the Flagellants is that they are basically the slayers of the empire army... not as good as slayers.. :p but they get the job done with their 2 attacks and flails. Yes the WS2 can be a bother, but I'm really only going to be facing around 2 chaos army's so most of the time they will be hitting on 4+ which is TOO bad since they have 10 attacks in the front rank.

Any and all suggestions are welcome. I will be posting different lists to see what you guys think of them. I have 2 weeks until the tourny and this upcomming Saturday will be a play testing week to get a final tweek in.

To begin with, the handgunner _detachments_ cannot have marksmen.

Also, it might be more flexible to field the handgunners as detachments of 5, instead of the current unit size of 10. Makes them more flexible.

So what your basically saying is make both units have 2 detachments of 5 handgunners each... Hmmmm That does sound pretty good. And like you said very flexible. Don't need to waste shots.

Pistoliers would probably work better than flagellants. Much better at flanking, ranged attacks, Better WS and armour and the opportunity to take repeater handguns..hmmmm

Yeah I agree with the pistoliers and the marksman should get a repeater PISTOL, not a repeater handgun.
Those pistoliers will cause some real trouble for your opponent in 1000 point games

It looks soild enough but I would change one detachment per regiment for 8 free company. CC detachments are the key to infantry block tactics.

This way you still have 10 hundgun shots and a cannon which is sufficent and you also have a good countercharging detachment.

Won't they die fast though? Yes they get to attack first, but with no armor I can see them as easy kills for combat res... but it sounds like a good plan. I have always just used handgunners as detachments and never a cc unit. So maybe its time.

Any more advice would be welcomed. Did I spend too much of characters? I tried not to over do them. I think 2 lvl's will be sufficent in a 1k game

They will die just as quickly as handgunners and you really want to get a counter charge in for the CR bonus. Even if you lose a couple of free company you can still get a CR bonus of +4 (in real terms) if you countercharged a ranked infantry unit.

1 lvl 2 wizzies should be enough and if you drop the one with the wizards staff and a freecompanion you can get a captain on a pegasus with a knight kit which is an excellent tactical character.
