Apologies if this is in the wrong place but does anyone have / know of any pictures / photos of painted Archaon on Foot models? It was the Games Day model in 2004 if memory serves.

Thanks in advance.

I think this should be moved to Painting & Terrain. :)

Anyway, here (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v150/Pea_666/Warhammer%20Fantasy/) are some pics of mine. I didn't get it on Games Day though, but it WAS the 2004 GD miniature.

if you go to the GW site, Storm of Chaos section, they have an article on painting Archaon on foot

Is anyone else midly bemused by this model?

The posing is so obviously a result of simply cutting him off his horse and gluing him to a base. They could have at least resculpted his legs.

But then you wouldn't have the most excellent "Look! I'm falling off this here rock!" pose :D

If you need pics, try CMON (http://www.coolminiornot.com/browse) search.

eh, i've gotta defend this model, since it's my favourite chaos lord model

the way that GW assembled it blows

if any of you actually have the model, it looks a lot better with Archaon gazing out over his shield, with the sword angled downward

it gives him a sort of "counter attack" pose that looks really cool

and I just so happed to _like_ the rock he's standing on :P

I based him on lump of rock with a slope to counter act the 'look! I am falling off this here rock' pose and got a great result.

Harry and Loveless: Can you please post pictures of those "conversions", I would love to see them!

Side Note: That sword is so damn silly...

Meph - I'll work on it, I'm still dragging my brush through 2000 points of Black Templar - my Archy's still unpainted, but I'll try to get a pic once i get my camera back in a couple weeks, lol

Also, yes, the sword's flames on the one side kinda blow, but I don't hate them enough to file them off *shrugs*

@ Mephistofeles - The replica sword from Warp Artefacts is so COOL though...
