Ok, I just made this list for fun last week so here it is:

C: General - Vampire Count (Lvl 3 Wiz with Nehekhara's Noble Blood)

Lvl 2 wiz upgrade +35
Nehekhara's Noble Blood +45
Ring of the Night +30
Forbidden Lore +15 = 330

Lvl 2 wiz upgrade +35
Staff of Damnation +40 = 140

Lvl 2 wiz upgrade +35
Black Periapt +15
Book of Arkhan +25 = 140

Cu: 2x 30 Zombies
S/m +30 = 390

8 Dire Wolves = 80
7 Dire Wolves = 70

Su: 30 Grave Guard
Shields +1/model
S/m&c +30
Banner of the Barrows +40 = 465

3 Spirit Hosts = 195

Ru: Banshee = 90

Total = 1900

I have 100 pts left over so maybe a small unit of skeletons with light armor. Suggestions? is it Viable?

Get another level 2 Necromancer theres no point picking a 2000 point necrach army without maximising your main strength, magic.
Good choice on bound items but maybe one to many Grave Guard very expensive but not replenishable.
They are eating away too much points you could always get something better with your money, your problem is you invested too much in one unit. You expect this unit to win most combats which it won't so when this falls through your army hasn't really got a leg to stand on.

Get some ghouls to go mage hunting, to be sure of your magical superiority
You could add another necromancer, but your opponent's mage hunters would have a field day as you have only to dire wolves to defend yourself from that.
Option nr 3 would be to upgrade your count to a lord.

my 2(3) cents

Ahh yes ghouls the bane of my existence and essential for vampire counts . You need two units at least.
Its not worth a vampire lord if hes a Necrach, the reason for this is he is a good spellcaster but too many eggs in one basket get a necromancer with the cloak of mist and shadows if your worried about peope making the bade to face combo with him also put him in a unit if your opponent has mage hunting facilities and take them out.
Thats what a battle is about two forces vying for supremacy its not always going to be an easy ride.
Your opponent is guarenteed to have at least one trick up his sleeve.

heh i didnt even realize i didnt take my 3rd hero choice. Im used to playing a Von Carstein Lord and only having 2 hero choices. Another Necromancer it is then Lvl 2 of course so there is my extra 100 points
