When playing a normal game of about 2,000 point how much terrain do you normally use?

About five or six pieces. (Plus the free wood for being a wood elf army)

We use the rules for placing terrain from the seventh edition rulebook, and usually ends up with 2-3 hills, 2 forests and a marsh.

Yeah, 5-8 pieces of terrain is about the usual. When I have lots of small terrain pieces (like wels and small gravehills) I still don't go over 11-12 pieces.

Somewhere between 4-7 pieces usually, depends on what pieces we're using, as they vary wildly in size.

We use anywhere from four to twelve pieces. We divide the table into quarters then place D3 pieces in each quarter. Typically this comes to about six to eight pieces per game spread out over a six foot by four foot table (We use my kitchen table for gaming...the gf just LOVES that *chuckles*).

Because of the size of our table 5" by 3", we only use 1d6 + 2 bits of terrain and then throw in a few trimmings at the end.

Around 6 pieces usually. 3 rolls on the random terrain generators from previous edition per player. If someone made some new terrain, we might use an extra piece or two, just to use the new piece in battle.

Just getting back into WFB so sticking with what I have available and also what the book suggests. We are terrain minimal at the moment (4 or 5 pieces for 2000 points on 6x4 board).

I tend to generally use a hill or two and enough trees to make a couple of small woods. So about seven or eight pieces.

about 20-30..........hell I love playing cityfight, proper cityfight not GW`s version of a city "oh cities consist of about 4 buildings" no 6x6 board and LOADS of buildings, now that is proper 40k HUSSAR!!

I bet the Skaven would love it though.

It sounds like we will see plastic buildings for fantasy next year but I'm not sure the CoD stuff fits the WFB theme completely. You might be able to scrounge a few bits for some gothic ruins I guess.

Well, the plastic buildings for fantasy won't be as customizable as those of 40K according to the rumours. Leaves open more options for character and stranger pieces though, altough integrating terrain in the game is a lot easier in 40K.

We use normally 4 pieces. Normally, 2 hills, a wood, a lake. Sometimes a ruined building.

My skaven opponent universally wants as little terrain as possible, so even when we use the 7th ed generic setup we end up with 3 pieces of terrain in almost every battle.

There might be a piece more against other opponents, but it's extremely rare we have more than 5 pieces.

Book suggests 4-6 pieces of terrain for a 4x6 board. So we roll a Die until 4,5, or 6 show up.

It seems like a lot of you run more terrain than I would. The book says 4-6 pieces for 1000-3000 points. I figure right in the middle so we use 5 pieces at 2000 points.

6-7 bits is about right.

6-7 bits is about right.
I presume you aren't using the setup method in the rulebook. On a 4x6' table, with no terrain 12" of center, there couldn't be any room left for models to manoeuvre.

Try it sometime. You'd be surprised how many open spaces are still left even if you deploy 6-8 big terrain pieces.
