Hey, so I sold my traitors and the majority of mine and Feyd's deathguard to fund a new project. Eldar. I recieved a large box of goodies in the mail today.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v413/KingKonstad/eldarboxes.jpg
To go along with these boxes I also have:
5 warpspiders
4 warlocks
1 warwalker
2 farseers
I'm planning on getting a lot of hte stuff put together rather soon, with the wraithlord standing atop a brutalated decapitated slaaneshi demon, holding a sword in one hand and holding the demons head in the other.

I am thinking of a craftworld along the lines of alaitoc although I think the colour scheme will be olive green armour with blecahed bone and orange accents.

You could totally do a bunch of crazy converted "Crone World" Eldar. When I think of someone that could pull that army off, you are on the list!

ooh please put some ELDAR CORSAIRS in there somehow. onces I've done my Seer Council on Jetbikes I'd love to get some Corsair-type units into my Alaitoc army. it's not something I've often seen

Well.... I'm a bit new to eldar so if you guys could enlighten me on such things....

What are these Eldar Corsairs? Pirates?

Again... What are Crone Worlds? Some kind of chaos infested eldar craft world? Well, sadly these probably wont be too converted as I am doing them for the fun to paint etc... I might make some of the models more dynamic, but as of now Im just aiming to paint an award winning army. We'll see what happens though. ;)

oooOOHHH!!!1 This is gonna be a project log worth watching. Gotta agree with some of the other posters, do some fluff research, combined w/ your talent that is the making of an awesome army.

well there is a little fluff on Corsairs in the Codex. Prince Yriel for example is a Corsair, he's the High Admiral of the Eldritch Raiders

Corsairs are sometimes referred to as Eldar Pirates but they are not like Dark Eldar, just pillaging for the hell of it, they will sometimes do raids like that but they are also almost like Guardian Angels for Exodite worlds or come to the aid of their home craftworlds when they come under attack

there's a good bit of fluff on Corsairs on p53 of the Codex. they can basically display the best and worst of the Eldar race and I think you can have a lot of flexibility with the fluff you use to include them in your army.

I'm thinking the best models to use are Dire Avengers (exarch with shimmeshield being best Corsair-looking model!), coz I don't think Corsairs are Guardian equivalent because these are full-time warriors!

re: Corsairs and Alaitoc there is also fluff on p19 - a lot of the Outcasts become Corsairs basically! and if they look as cool as Yriel I want more of them in my army! just need to work out how :)

Well as interesting as that concept sounds, last night as I ashed the ashes into the ash tray a godly Idea came to me under the herbal enlightenment. I have set across a daring path to create an eldar army damned to the influences of slaanesh to extent that they have vowed to chase the foul Slaaneshi followers until they are death. Almost every model except for the warpspiders and rangers will be beheading, stabbing, killing etc... some sort of slaaneshi follower as if they just won some sort of epic battle. I think the colour scheme will involve some pink, ultramarine blue, and black. We'll see where this idea takes my army. It could be bad or good... Anyways, in lieu of your guys comments about me doing an eldar army and how fantastic the conversions would be I have decided against just making a straight army to paint. LET THE METAL FINGERED MADNESS BEGIN.

Crone world Eldar are eldar that were on one of the eldar planets that ended up in the warp...they are super evil slaanesh worshipping eldar, basically.

So your concept is kind of like the "anti-crone world" eldar ;)

Cool minis, lets see more!

Yea thats what I decided after doing some research. I am trying to think of some good poses for my dire avengers.... kneeling is out of the question as I dont find that very eldarish except for rangers. I need dynamic "Im gonna chop off this slaaneshi F*cks head" kinda eldar posing.

Look at photo refs of ninjas/samurai/etc for cool asian-ish sword poses!

Just wait until he's holding the sculpted slaaneshi greater demons bloody head, its going to really oooze death, literally. :cheese: Anyways, I am working on a lot of dire avenger leg repositioning, walking off of rocks and stepping on bloody chopped up daemonettes. So we'll see what happens. You think people I play against will be angry if the Dire Avengers are holding their Avenger Catapults in one hand and a sword in the other?

Well, another quick update on the wraithlord and the dire avengers. I am also working on modernizing some old fire dragons I got for dirt cheap off of ebay. Also in the post was a table top paint job of a striking scorpion. Not too sure how happy I am with it and might rework it later on. Also updated was an old farseer I have lying around, tried to pick a slaaneshi purple for the robe with some red with the gold to show some elegance. I want to do some more freehand on the back of hte cloack but I'm not too sure on what to do.

I love your work, but that old farseer model is such a travesty that you would have to rework almost the entire thing to make me like it :)

Otherwise, very cool stuff.

Mate, that's one of the coolest background stories for a bunch of Eldar, I've come across!
Slaneesh (and most of hers/his followers) being THE ultimate danger to an Eldar's soul, your guys have to be some tough bastards, running around and actually looking for their doom!

Realls looking forward to any progress on this project!

MC

PS: and great conversions by the way...

Like the pose on the wraithlord, but is its foot actually on the demon's ... t!ts? Can't quite tell what it's stepping on ...

Looking forward to more, even if it means violating those poor demon girls :(

The Wraithlord is, already at this early stage in sculpting the Slaaneshi daemon head, as you said really oozing death. Well done; keep it up!
