There ya go! The idea is plain and simple. The slaves walk forwards being slaughtered by the hundreds of 20 and flee while the core of my rats either stay back (if fighting a melee oriented army) or lumber forward (against thems empire and dwarfs.) The tunnlers will spring up to attack a unti engaged with my rats to cause a panic and destroy the rank bonus. The Jezzail's and cannon will be eaten the heavy unit and/or cavalry.

So, any tips? I used to play WHFB two years ago and when I did I played Dwarfs and Beasts of Chaos.

I'd not take the assassin. Their usefullness is little, in my opinion. That would free up a chunk of points.

Every new player does the same: they don't take enough slaves.

slaves are the best entry the the skaven book. They are beyond compare!

you'll get 20 rats, a fully ranked unit with ld 9 near the general for a measly 40 points!

they will do everything for you: they will screen valuable units, they will flankcharge, they will claim tablequaters, they will perform bait and flee tactics to perfection.

they will EAT the chosen chaos knight charge, and after the combat you can congratulate your opponent on killing less points then a single model on his side...

play with them and realize: slaves are a must in every single skaven list, no matter what you do.

I tend to think smaller tunnel teams are better, since you never know if they will actually appear, and that's that is a lot of points to loose on a bad die roll. Speers are ok in the clanrat unit with the skaven brew, but for the other units I would use handweapons. With all of your war machines slaves or a swarm, or other small expendable units are nice, since you can shoot into them.

Yeah I realize more slaves are good, I originally planned on 2 units of them. But in the end I needed more points since my specials were full.


And I defiantly agree with you forgotten, I'll probably chop them down a bit.

your priorities are wrong then. Ditch a special, get more slaves.

Slaves are WAY better then any special choice.

I needed more points otherwise I would have more slaves, as I already stated.
