Just figured I'd post some of my doodles that I've done fairly recently.... please excuse some of them for being really bad.

The first couple are nid designs I felt like coming up with in anticipation of the codex.....

These are some skaven pics because I love those strange little rats.

Vermin Lord

Ratling gun Operator

Assassin in Mordheim

Jezzail Team

Gutter Runner

Now it's just random pics that I dooled up.

Nurgle Terminator Concepts....

Things in Armor

Fantasy Stuff

Hope you like them

damnit, wish I were that good

would you be interested in helpin do some of the art for cathay?

16-07-2005, 00:53
>>>>You have an amazing talent that is for sure. I love the first goblin http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Nightgobbo.jpg

The first thing I thought when I saw it was, "that would make a great avatar!" And it would, it would for sure.

16-07-2005, 01:04
Star scream! Lol! I love transformers eh.

Also those are really good. I'd like to see a battle scene if you could manage it. How long did it take you to do those? takes me quite a long time to make anything good.

16-07-2005, 01:53
Thanks guys......

About the Cathay thing..... They're all ninjas and samurais right? If so, then I'd love to doodle up some stuff for that. Just send me your thoughts and I'll try something with it.

About the time it takes to do these things..... It really depends on the picture..... sometimes it takes an hour (I think the goblin that Star.Scream likes so much is an example of that) others take a few hours, but rarely do I spend more then 4 hours collectively on a picture.

16-07-2005, 02:02
Ok good. I spend about 4 ours on a picture to. Same quality. 4 hours aint really a doodle tho. More like a collective sketch. :P

the 'things in armour' look very much like predators, cept for the last one - which looks like a cross between alien and an eldar guy

very nice pics

18-07-2005, 01:51
Those are fantastic. There is so much character in your doodles.

06-08-2005, 22:13
Very nice!

I am myself "sniffing" a bit om the art are, more specifically manga and anime... I would love to learn how to draw up nice warhammer pics!

What materials du you use, pencils, inks etc?

07-08-2005, 03:42
not bad at all. I like your style.

07-08-2005, 07:18
In response to what mateials i use.... I prefer pencils above all else.... and unlike many one pencil is enough for me, especially a lead pencil... I just can't remember to change pencils all the time and becomes more of a hassle than anything, so one pencil works well for me. But I've been experimenting with inks a bit and have found that I can do a descent job with them, the only problem is I can't put guidelines in and if I make a slight mistake I'm obligated to work with it.

BTW... I just got a new scanner and a ton of paper and new pencils, so if anyone has a cool pic idea please submit it and I'll give it a shot... soon I'll post some new stuff.

*Raises hand*

You see, GW has a range of not-so-nice-looking Elementals (http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=99110299045&orignav=9) and I'm sure you can do better than that. Care to give that a try?

About the Cathay thing..... They're all ninjas and samurais right? If so, then I'd love to doodle up some stuff for that. Just send me your thoughts and I'll try something with it. .......not just that but also tiger and panda beastmen as well as skels ...............
i've just seen your pics, nice, :D it should be a dawdle to do with a man of your skills to come up with some thing ;) ....

09-08-2005, 22:49
My new pics....

Battles of some sort (as requested)

(I hope those are good enough for ya)

Miscilaneous other stuff
Dark eldar air boarder fella http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan013.jpg

Grave guard, with a few of my own slight changes... http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan010.jpg

Next time I post I will have at least given the elemantals and the Cathayan stuff a shot. BTW.... Just give me an outline of what Cathayan stuff there is otu there (mostly how aree these skellies I've heard about different), because I can't resist the idea of tiger and panda people :p

10-08-2005, 19:10
Well, here are ny first real quick cracks at Cathayan stuff... I just decided to do a couple real quick pics to get you guys to tell me if I was on the right track and what would make these ideas more Cathayan (since all i know about the army is that they are the oriental side of warhammer) These are nowhere near what I could do, I just wanted to see if I was on the right track with what was wanted.

Samurai + Tiger warrior http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan023.jpg

Panther warrior http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/7f86036c66206c875dc2b74bf93fc7a80_f.jpg

Ninja thinger http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan024.jpg

I was also wondering if this guy that I drew quite some time ago might be able to be a nice addition for a Cathayan army...

hope you guys like them, give me some feedback and I'll start on the elemantals in the meantime.

that last 'thing in armour' looks like a eldar to me

i like the goblin casting a fireball

not saying they are bad but a few of them look like their cloaks are flying up instead of back, except the assassin who should be like that.

still, 11/10

jut noticed the battle ones, the skinks here look very good

and, no offence, but i thought the skaven was standing on its friends head at first - lol. The shooting at the beast ones good, im not so keen on the sword fight poses but still a great pic. i would have dont their swords claning together.

Thanks for the comments..... but I finished the elementals a little sooner than anticipated.

Fire... http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan025.jpg
I like the bottom one much better

Water... http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan026.jpg
I liekt he top one's pose but the hands don't look like the water drops I wanted them to.

Earth... http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan027.jpg
Ok, so I had a little fun with those :D

Air.. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan029.jpg
I like the bottom one's head better, but I didn't think of the jester thing till too late.

Hope you like them.

And since I had a little nid fever left.., http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b303/necron_lizardmen/Scan030.jpg

Hey, that's just awesome. At least all the 40k ones were awesome. I didn't check out the Fantasy ones.

If those are just doodles, I'm looking forward to seeing your real artwork :)

15-08-2005, 14:16
Here's some Khornesque stuff I just drew up yesterday..... hope you like it.

18-08-2005, 15:23
Just drew some Tzeentch stuff here it is:

And a wood elf (looking at nothing so the clothes may be a bit off)....

19-08-2005, 12:17
Some nice stylised work there ArtQ.

19-08-2005, 12:45
Thanks for the compliment....

Here's sort of like the space marine version of Doctor Octapus (I wasn't quite sure what to do with the halmet or anything so he's pretty plain, but he looks pretty spiffy nontheless)

26-08-2005, 18:00
here's an eldar one.... I think my wraitlord is a bit off, but what the hay, it was fun to draw.

07-03-2007, 11:48
i know it's an old thread  but..... i just think it's too good to disapear .and there's probably a whole new bunch of members that would enjoy these pics:cool: .

(sorry for not getting back Artimis, kinda got sidetracked:o

09-03-2007, 08:34
You should try to tone your backgrounds, and use a full range of value in your images. Also, try to draw without sketching the line as much...one smooth line is better than 5 sketchy ones over the same spot ;)

It will make your mark-making a lot smoother and more refined, too.

I like a lot of these, I just want to see em pushed further...remember, the value scale is pure black all the way to paper white...think of all the grays in between ;)

Edit, wow, I didnt notice the threadomancy. I wouldnt have bothered posting, oops.

nice pics i like the carny best!
