Here's a treat for manga and anime fans (and of course, gaming fans)

200,00 preorders in Japan alone. Should go on to become the biggest selling DS game since launch.

edit: any fans of smash bros should be familiar with this kind of game

Hm, no comments? No interest? I thought we had more gamers than that. I thought we had more manga fans than that. I thought we had more Smash Bros fans than that :(

Hmmm... I can't see the videos for some reason.

Are there any plans to release this game in the U.S? I love Smash Bros. style games, and it looks to be pretty good from what I've read.

A good many of the characters are from manga series that many Americans have never even heard of. The only mainstream charcters in the game are from Dragon Ball, Yugi-Oh, (plus One Piece and Yu-Yu Hakusho, I guess). Naruto (and, to a lesser degree, Bleach) can't really be considered mainstream, despite their popularity on the internet. Taking this into account, the chances of it coming over to America are slim.

The game looks very interesting and fun, but I'd have to convince the only other person I know with a DS to get it so that I can enjoy the fun of multiplayer (which is where SBM's strength lies).

This is definately one of those games that if you're going to import it, do so NOW. Otherwise, you'll probably have to fork over $60-70 USD on eBay later.

I'd buy it. That's all the reason they need to bring it Stateside. ;)

Seriously though, they could just not market it as a great fighting game with popular comic characters and instead just market it as a great fighting game.

Hell, you never needed persuading, going by your avatar.
