View Full Version : Catferret's Campaign Begins!

Well, I got my new campaign under way the other night. Played a couple of games against Spyrers! Eek!

I was at my local gaming club and wanted to drum up some support for Necromunda so played a game against Palatine Katinka's Spyrers. I was a little apprehensive about playing them but really wanted a game so just bit the bullet.

We rolled up a Gang Fight and commenced the shooting! After a few early losses my gang made it into decent positions and opened up on a couple of the Spyrers and dropped them. My Heavy Stubber only had one chance to fire all game and got 6 shots with sustained fire and proceeded to miss with all of them despite only needing 5s to hit...

Post game a juve died but was replaced for free by one of my 3 Settlements!!! A Ganger was captured so on to game 2, Rescue Mission.

I rolled low so only had 5 models turning up while Katinka had all 5 Spyrers. I set up my Heavy Stubber with a good field of fire and ran the others forward until they were within short range then opened up with the big gun at 2 of the sentries. One was taken out and the other was pinned before the Stubber exploded taking my Heavy OOA. Doh! Didn't set off the alarm though! That was left to everybody else firing Autoguns and Shotguns. I must have the loudest Ratskin ever...

Rest of the game was a massacre as I systematically shredded a Spyrer a turn. I got my captive back safe and sound but my Heavy now has a Chest Wound so is T2! Got another free Juve as well...

Roll on next weeks games!

Arcane Action Man (Heavy): Lasgun(Hotshot Pack). 64xp
Stunt Girl (Ganger): Autogun. 30xp

Hopefully I will start to roll higher for xp at the end of games! Could do with some BS advances some time as well...

And I can't play spyrers why?

Catferret- congrats on getting the campaign going. It looks like you could use a flamer or two. Very handy vs spyrers, if you use overwatch well. Might also wanna give the Hevy Stubber to the guy who does NOT have a chest wound, to avoid loosing it quite so easily.

When you face spyrers again, here's a nasty trick. Don't shoot at them in your phase if you don't have to. Instead, put your guys on overwatch (if you can) even if they already have shots lined up (hell, ESPECIALLY if they already have shots lined up) and then do your shooting in HIS phase, AFTER he's made all his tests to unpin. That way you pin them and keep them pinned...

Catferret
26-01-2007, 19:01
the Specialist may well end up with a Flamer if I ever make enough creds to buy one. I haven't rolled very well for my income so far. Although I can't complain about my Territories, a Friendly Doc, Spore Cave and 3 Settlements! I'm gonna have to buy a lot of Juve models I think...

I need to save up for a weapon for my 2nd Heavy. Was planning an Autocannon but that probably won't happen with my income...

Spyrers straight off the bat... ouch.
Out of intrest which House are you playing? Escher?

26-01-2007, 19:21
I am playing House Trenz! http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63843

Spyrers aren't too bad if you accept the fact you will take casualties on the way in. I got up close and concentrated on dropping one or two at a time. Manstopper rounds are great.

Master Corvinus
26-01-2007, 19:30
Well the House is up and running nice. You have done well against the spyers so it sounds plus you havent taken to many injuries which is good. It seems at the moment you are staying back, do you intend on close combat later on if you get some nasty weapons?

I am actually closing in and doing short range fire fights. I need the short range bonus to hit until I get some BS advances. The 2 Heavies provide covering fire while the rest of the gang splits into 2 groups and attacks in an almost pincer movement. They stay out of sight then all attack at once with enough shots to drop the main target(s). Hopefully enough to force a Bottle Check on the other gang.

Palatine Katinka
26-01-2007, 20:50
Yeah, short range fire fights, ignoring my chameleonic abilities. All the Spyrers are Yeld so no fear of being charged.

Over all it was a fun couple of games. Even if my BS 5 Yeld failed to get a single wounding hit! Now I have to fight through 8 games with only 4 Yeld left so I can replace the one killed during the Rescue mission. Have to remember to use the Matriarch and Patriarch sometime. That and build my Patriarch!

Maybe my Spyrers are a bit deaf but noticed the light show that is him firing his Lasgun. Come to think of it, one of the injuries picked up was "Partially Deafened"!

Those are very good tactics for almost any gang. It works especially well if you have a lot of high strength / high accuracy weapons like bolt pistols, flamers, bolt guns, and maybe others. If one good round of shooting is all you need, who cares much about ammo tests? (Any time you make an ammo test, it means you rolled a 6 to hit...)
And yeah, the manstoppers are pretty sweet vs spyre hunters. Gotta love AM -2!

I wish I could afford Bolt Pistols and Flamers! While lots of Settlements provide a stable income, they don't provide the possibility of high income that the D6x10 Territories do.

As soon as I get 20 Creds Analogue is getting that Bolt Pistol! He has been great so far and will be rewarded accordingly. Hoping he rolls a double 1 or 6on his next advance so I can take Shooting skills and wish for Fast Shot.

He appears to be doing just what his name says. Cursing those round him! I figure he was kicked out of his tribe for bringing bad luck.

His name actually comes from a Nick Cave song. All my gang take their names from songs by various bands. Bet you can't name them all!:D

Right after hours of searching I found an old Cawdor gang that im going to use in Catferret's campaign. And blame Palatine Katinka for all the bolt pistols.

Oh here's the list.

Leader with Bolt gun, 2 x bolt pistols, auto pistol and chain sword.
Heavie with heavy stubber and bolt pistol.
Ganger with shotgun and bolt pistol.
Ganger with shotgun and bolt pistol.
Ganger with lasgun and bolt pistol.
Ganger with lasgun and bolt pistol.
Ganger with Autogun and bolt pistol.
Juve with bolt pistol.
Juve with bolt pistol.

Will add names when I come up with them.

Right after hours of searching I found an old Cawdor gang that im going to use in Catferret's campaign. And blame Palatine Katinka for all the bolt pistols.

Oh here's the list.
As a starting note, on a personal level when i start a gang i never use backup weapons, i go for more guys now and get the guns later. You can work more territories, its harder to make you start making bottle tests and harder to deal with more guys coming at you. That said i'm not going to continuously say you should remove them, i'll just make one note at the bottom with how many guys you could have taken if you dropped them all.

Leader with Bolt gun, 2 x bolt pistols, auto pistol and chain sword.
This guy does not need this many weapons, remove the two boltpistols. The autopistol is fine as a back up weapon and he can only use one weapon in hth cause of the boltgun, thats the chainsword.

Heavie with heavy stubber and bolt pistol.
Ganger with shotgun and bolt pistol.
Ganger with shotgun and bolt pistol. These shotgun guys would be better off with Manstoppers, -2 SM is better than boltpistol if you're specifically worried about spyrers.

Ganger with lasgun and bolt pistol.
Ganger with lasgun and bolt pistol.Lasguns have the same save mod as boltpistols and 2+ ammo, there's really no need for boltpistols on these guys.

Ganger with Autogun and bolt pistol.
Juve with bolt pistol.
Juve with bolt pistol.

So with just the changes suggested here 120 - 10 for 2 sets of manstopper, gives you enough for a ganger and a juve, I'd get the ganger an autogun, the juve an autopistol and that uses up all the creds you just gained. With the 15 i calculate you already had left over I'd get a ratskin scout. He tweaks the scenario table to your advantage and can garner you extra territories. He comes with a shotgun, is resilient and can lead the charge against everyone cause who cares if hired guns get injured. I'd get him the lasgun (and don't forget he has a blindsnake pouch, 4+ save against overwatch shots, which is another good reason for him to lead charges).

Currently you only have 5 gangers, if you suffer even one injury on one that means you can't work all your territories. I prefer to have a couple extra cause its inevitable you suffer one or two injuries at least.

Now, going for numbers i'd remove the autopistol from the leader, the bolt pistol from the heavy and the bolt pistol from the autogun ganger which gives an extra 55 creds. Upgrade a juve to a ganger, down to 30 creds. I'd turn one of the autogun gangers into a heavy with a flamer. Or save it for rare trade chart.

Catferret
28-01-2007, 11:01
I also recommend the Ratskin. I saw how bad your territories were and you will need the chance of getting free territory the Ratskin would give you.

Weregerbil

I am probley going to use a Ratskin but im going to stick with the bolt weapons.

Lord Humongous
28-01-2007, 13:34
Boltpistols really do pay for themselves in short range firefights. But I agree- its an expensive enough gun that you shouldn;t just throw them on guys without being sure they will be used.
The leader will never need 2 of them PLUS an autopistol- given that he has a boltgun, he may never even get within 8 inches of the enemy, which is the only time when you really need a pistol over a basic weapon. The guys with the lasguns and autogun and heavy stubber are in the same boat- they probably should NOT be advancing, as your other guys will need cover fire. If anything, give the guy with the heavy stubber a bolt GUN as a backup.

He doesn't need more gangers because his territories are barely worth working! ;)
Taking one more gang member will put him in the next bracket for income.
The plethora of weapons on the Leader is because all bar the Bolt Pistols are on the model and Weregerbil doesn't want to bother with many conversions. Two Bolt Pistols may be excessive but there are two holsters and he is the Leader.
The main reason I recommended the Bolt Pistols is the combination of +2 to hit and S4. That and I thought it would be funny. :p

Lord Humongous
30-01-2007, 18:28
Just because a model shows a weapon (especially just a holster) doesn't mean it needs to be on your gang sheet. Could be he doesn't have ammo for all those pistols yet....

Ridley Rider (Leader): Shotgun(Manstopper, Bolt), Autopistol, Sword. WS5, Medic. Blinded in Right Eye (BS3). 116xp

Arcane Action Man (Heavy): Lasgun w/ Hotshot Pack. 76xp
Charlotte (Ganger): Autogun. Specialist, Weaponsmith. 46xp
Bukowski (Ganger): Autogun. A2. Head Wound. 37xp
Gravity Girl (Ganger): Shotgun(Manstopper). I4. 31xp
Analogue (Ganger): Shotgun(Manstopper, Bolt), Bolt Pistol. A2, Ld8, Weaponsmith, Chemist. Shellshock (I2). 66xp
Crenshaw (Ganger): Shotgun(Manstopper). WS4, BS4. Horrible Scars. 43xp
Cherry Red (Juve=>Ganger): Autopistol, Chainsword. A2, Sprint, Chemist, Weaponsmith. 22xp
Kid A (Juve): Laspistol. 4xp
Jenny (Juve): Autopistol, Sword. BS4. 11xp
The Curse of Mill Haven (Ratskin): Lasgun. WS4, S4, Dodge

I have a dose of Spook and 44 Creds in my Stash. Was hoping to roll a Bionic Eye but rolled up a Needle Rifle and Web Pistol which are way outside my price range... May just buy a Flamer for Charlotte.

Guess I can't argue with how they are equipped now- what you have, seems in more or less the right place.
Seems you've rolled for a lot of techno skills. Techno skills aren't much help when it comes to winning games, though they do wonders in the post game sequence. I'd shoot for some skills with better "in fight" effects if possible.

Catferret
31-01-2007, 12:07
My Gangers with Weaponsmith have really paid off in game. Wish my Heavy had it, his Stubber seems to explode most games now! Without access to Combat or Shooting skills, my Gangers have been mainly rolling Techno simply because I have never had a Techno gang before.

Now the initial excitement has died down, I'm going to be concentrating on the Stealth and Agility aspects of the gang. I could do with a little more speed to get me into good positions earlier.

Ok I got round to trying to make a gang list, my mail order still hasn't arrived so it'll be a bit longer before I can actually make models for them but I think this seems sensible for an Orlock gang:

Leader: chainsword, autopistol, shotgun (man-stopper + bolt shells)
Heavy: heavy stubber, autogun
Ganger1 : lasgun, autopistol
Ganger2 : lasgun, laspistol
Ganger3 : autogun, autopistol
Ganger4 : shotgun (man-stopper shells), autopistol
Ganger5 : shotgun (man-stopper shells), laspistol
Juve: autopistol, knife
Juve: autopistol, knife

Which leaves me with 75creds left over, I think this stuff all seems reasonable but I had a chat with Palatine Katinka and he recommended getting another heavy with something like a lasgun. Financing this by dropping a back-up weapon like laspistol on ganger2 with lasgun (as he's unlikely to fail ammo rolls and if he does a pistol isn't likely to help too much if he's hanging back), which seems sensible too.

What do recon about the gang? is it reasonable (I tried to avoid having identi-kit equipped guys)? is there any changes you'd recommend?
We also discussed stub guns a bit and whether they're worth taking for any reason other than looking cool. What do you think?

Ok I think I'll go with the extra heavy, as I said it does seem quite sensible.

Are stub guns really so bad, I mean on a Juve, a stub gun + dum-dum rounds would make him S4 in Cc wouldn't it?

I have no bolt pistols as they're not on the Orlock list, are they? did I miss them or something?

Well the 2 games I played on Tues and not one round of combat so go for shooting.

Galdur Hrafnsson
01-02-2007, 20:55
Don't just go for shooting. Sure, it's alright to start off a little more shooting-heavy, but after a game or two you'll want some fighters in the gang. Especially if you can get some tasty advances.

Catferret
02-02-2007, 00:36
Yup, ignore Weregerbil. Specifically regarding Bolt Pistols in these circumstances, but it's a good idea in general!;) He plays Cawdor and can have Bolt Pistols on his whole gang, Orlock can't.

A pure shooting gang will be sorely lacking versus the Pit Slaves and other combat gangs that are in the campaign. A couple of close combat fighters will give you some defence.

Good to hear your gang doing well or well enough. Just played my first game the other day. Lets just say I learned afew things. One thing I knew before going in to the game was not overloading my guys, keeping my numbers. I played against my bro and his bud. I out numbered them both but them had the flasher weapons. I had 5 guys go down but i still won. I havent rolled my injuries yet. Im afirad their all gonna die lol.

Catferret
02-02-2007, 12:45
Nice work. You just have to accept casualties on the way in and rely on your numbers when the real shooting starts. More shots will frequently win out over better guns. Unless you roll like me and have your gang shredded by Bolt Pistols. Nice one Weregerbil! His plan really paid off. :)

Having rolled. I lost one juve, another juve and a ganger got a full recovery, and another got a leg wound and One ganger got caputered. Lucky for me I have a friendly doc.:p

Catferret
03-02-2007, 10:27
Friendly Docs are great. I have one too. Leg Wounds aren't too bad, just keep that Ganger with a shooting emphasis. Captured is annoying but at least they aren't dead. Rescue missions can be a lot of fun. Assuming you don't just pay for their return. But I'm a cheapskate!

Lord Humongous
03-02-2007, 21:47
I don't think you absolutley need close combat fighters for defense- good shooting can pin down folks, slowing the gangs advance, and putting enough folks down before they reach HtH that bottle tests end the fight before any real carnage occurs.

But that's doing it the hard way. In ANY gang, even the ones with no obvious HtH orientation, many of the advances you get will be useful in HtH. Half your skill advances (on average) are for WS, not BS. Attack advances, initiaitive advances, even leadership advances, tend to be useful for HtH fighters, and not matter much to shooters.

So to make maximum effect of you advances, you should equip folks who get those advances (especially WS advances) with good HtH setups, which means (at the least) a pistol and CCW for the bonus attack. And then yu need to use those guys OFFENSIVELY. If you don't exploit those advances by making HtH attacks, you are just cheating yourself.

The problem Necromunda campaigns face is when gangs polarise to shooting. You end up with a bunch of campers with sniper rifles and it feels like playing on an unmoderated Counter-Strike server!

... and that's when the Watchmen step up and take the campaign in a new direction ;)

Palatine Katinka

Best thing to shake up those camp-happy gangs is a nice big ratskin gang that just keep taking agility skills until half the gang either sprints or leaps...
Scavvies can do the same, but they don't bring difficult conditions with them- or, when they do, it messes them up just as often. The do bring thier own brand of fun, though.

Well, I'll be joining the Campaign properly next week with my Kroot. Running them as 'Unknown Warriors' (like most of the guys in the campaign, it seems) - Combat/Ferocity/Agility with lots of Kroot Rifles (Sword + Bolter as far as game rules go)

Had a couple of warm-up games in which my leader got shot in the face and fell off a building with the first-ever shot against my gang. Multiple injuries ensued - he's now impressively scarred, missing an eye, partially deaf, with a knackered leg and an old Battle wound. Not the healthiest of chaps...

As an aside, I notice a thread in Random Musing on the concept of a Zombie Apocalypse (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68704). Any chance we might be able to scrounge together a zombie horde for a big multi-player battle at some point in the campaign? Everyone loves Zombies, right?

AHAHAHAHA that's the most ruthless thing ever! "Hey bud... you're an old cripple and we need you to retire..."
"ahh.... fine, ok... Whatevers best for the gang!"
"We're going to need all of your gear too"
"uhh ok..."
"And we also need you to accompany the juves on our next.... grocery... mission..."

PS you don't have enough money to buy juves a basic pistol, and now you're looking for a new bloody heavy??? How does that work :D! (or is that usingthe 30 creds from a dead body :D!)

Catferret
15-02-2007, 19:02
I got a windfall last game! 3 deaths so lots of creds! still have about 30 odd in stash so will be saving up for a replacement guy. Have bought pistols for the Juves and swapped some equipment around on others.

And yeah, I'm ruthless but that Heavy isn't pulling his weight and with T2 and BS3 is a real liability.

If you think that's ruthless you should see what happened in our campaign...
1) A Goliath gang had a Juve captured, but didn't want to pay the ransom, so wound up shooting the kid, the captors sold the body to their friendly doc and split the creds with the Goliaths.
2) a Scavvy gang invented a telescopic sight and sold it to a Delaque gang, for a Juve during ransom negotiations.

Looking forward to joining the campaign!! Got some plastic Catachans and am busy converting them up (obviously I'm planning to copy Mr Catferret's idea on changing the sprue's lasguns into shotguns and autoguns...... i lack imagination, so copying is good)....

But its been a while since I last played Necro and could use some advice on suitable sizes of gang, Juve numbers and useful weapon fits (spoke to Mr CatFerret and he advised Shotguns, but I am not sure as to how I should equip my Leader and Heavies)

I'm planning to use the Delaque rules or maybe a Techno/Shooting/Stealth based gang mentioned in Fanatic3.

All imput would be greatly appreciated cos I always liked Necro, but am cursed with limited time to reconvert/paint.

Catferret
21-02-2007, 08:05
Numbers wise go for at least 9, you are looking for 1 over a multiple of 4. Absolute minimum of 5 Gangers. Ideally 6 or 7. Juves are handy bullet catchers and advance quickly if they survive.

Shotguns and Autoguns for Gangers, Pistol for a Juve. Leaders want to make use of that high BS so Bolters or Shotguns with Bolt Shells or even a Plasmagun, if you can afford it, are good. A backup pistol for the Leader means they keep on shooting even after a jam, although a second Basic Weapon would be better if you can afford it. Depending on the way you want to go, the Heavies can either do long range fire support/suppression or move up close with Flamers. Your call really.

If you want model variation take Scummers or a Ratskin.

Well last night was eventful, 4 gangs tried to claim the bounty on my heavy, at once...
2 gangs I could handle, 3 are possible, if there was fighting between them, 4 and I was just waiting to get out.
Still between them they only managed one shot at the heavy, and that missed. Elsewhere it was a bit of a masacre, My leader and 4 gangers wound up OOA, as was my beastmaster, the gang to my left had their leader, 3 gangers and a juve out, another ganger and a couple of scum went down, 4 zombies went down and a 5th went out, whilst 2 gangers and an arcoflagellant went out to my right.
I did find out who had posted the bounty, and posted a counter bounty on the traitor leader, none other than the fellow Delaque from whom I had grabbed the top slot. He regained top slot battering the Cawdors at the bottom.
So I'm back in 2nd again.

lichemaster666: If you drop all the autopistol secondary weapons there's enough for another ganger.

Just read through this thread, and damn but Necro is awesome, and even more sweet is that you guys are keeping it around! Love reading the campaign updates, particularly Catferret's with the skills, etc. updated each time.

There were rumors that Necro is restarting in my area (Pennsylvania), but some guys also wanted to get GorkaMorka going again, so I'm throwing my $$ and time into that ring, and rebuilding my Morkers from back in the day. When the time comes to finally play Necro though, I'll likely pick a nice WHFB boxed set, make my own house list and get to work.

Keep the reports up though, would love pics if anybody has a chance in between the carnage!

lichemaster666 The conversion ideas for the shotguns and all are good ones. If you do not feel up to that or like a more primitive and flashy way of representing them, you could bum some sluggas from ork players. The one with the belt can easilt represent an autogun while the drum fed one can just as easily represent a drum fed shotgun.

Boss_Salvage, I used a regiment box of beastmen using the ungors as juves and the gors as gangers. The heads with the armor masks, I used in conjunction with the the 4 horn horn sets to make heavies and the 4 horn set with a reguler head to make the leader. If I ever get them painted and camera to work on them, I will post pics.
I would love to see someone make a lizerdman gang using sauruses as gangers and skinks as juves.

I would think that you could use nercomunda rules for a "gorkamorka" setting as well as for necromunda. I liked Gorkamorka but I thought it was limiting in comparison to Necromunda. I dont see why you couldnt add variety to it by using necromunda and using the different gang traits on the different ork clans. It would take a little hashing out with your mates but I feel it would be worthwhile.

Currently my gang's looking a little dull - two gangers have gone up to WS4, and one's got two wounds. Need to play more games, get me some experience.

My leader, however, ended up with the following after only one game:
Blind in One Eye, Impressive Scars, Leg Injury,Old Battle Wound, Partially Deaf

And that was with the first shot ever fired against this gang. Took him straight out of action, and I ended up with multiple injuries. Still, it kinda makes sense - he was on top of a three-storey building when he got taken out...

Offhand, I see evolution as being a long term affair that takes place over generations. I think it would take to long to be usable in a campaighn.

Well, Kroot "evolution" is a lot quicker as they directly absorb the DNA into their genomes when they eat stuff. But something tells me doing that with underhiver genes might be a bit of a risky process...

EVIL INC
24-02-2007, 19:17
True it is very fast evolution. Even so, I would guess 2 generations for anything majoy enough to effect gameplay such as wings. The generation after the ones eating the winged creatures born with the wings and them not be usable. Thier "children" in turn having the wings and them being able to use them.
If Catferret says yes, I would sit with him and figure out what animals are available to "put on the menu" and which of them contribute what properties. Offhand, if it was just me, I wouldnt use them. I know that I am not including mutations in my beastman gang rules. Now, I might make mutations to represent some of the hand to hand weapons but even that is doubtfull.
Of course, this is only my postulations. It is Catferret who makes the decisions such as that.

The Goliaths to my front were taking fire but not enough to slow them down, the Orlocks to my right started a melee which started sucking in fighters from both our gangs for little effect and was still in full swing when it was suddenly ended by the player diagonally opposite firing his heavy stubber into it. Of course his weapon blew up and killed the heavy.
I took 2 Old battle wounds, 1 captured, 1 partially deafened, 1 blinded in 1 eye, 1 arm wound, 1 survived against the odds and 4 fully recovered.
With one ganger working and a new ganger needing a bigger gun, plus ransom demands I wound up losing creds.
I need to find a bunch of Scavvies and go on a bounty hunt.

2 games vs Gen Ev tonight. Shoot Out and Gang Fight.

In the Shoot Out I had 2 models versus his 4 and rolled real low for the draw. He quickly took both OOA but neither model picked up permanent injuries. Next time I'll send more gangers to the shops to buy milk!

The Gang Fight went in my favour and I won when he Bottled. His Leader has Ld10 through Impressive Scars so I made a point of gunning him down with a Heavy Stubber.

Notable points of Game 2. Smoke Bombs are *******' awesome! I bought more after the game when they were offered and saw how effective they were.
Ratskins who stand in front of Stubbers get shot in the back! :D It had me in stitches as my own Heavy shot him off the building by mistake!

Here's how the Gang looks now.

Ridley Rider (Leader): Shotgun(Manstopper, Bolt), Bolt Pistol, Sword, Photovisor, Flak armour. WS6, BS6, Medic, Chemist, Inventor. Blinded(BS5). 212xp
Luke One (Heavy): Just his Knife! BS4, A2, Longshot. Chest Wound(T2), Blinded(BS3). 129xp
Arcane Action Man (Heavy): Heavy Stubber, Lasgun(Hotshot Pack), Photovisor. BS4, Monkey Grip. 110xp
Prisstina(Juve): Autopistol. Jump Back. 9xp
Charlotte (Ganger): Flamer, Bolt Pistol, Smoke Bombs, Photovisor. BS4, T4, Specialist, Weaponsmith. Blinded(BS3). 68xp
Baxter (Juve): Autopistol. 3xp
Gravity Girl (Ganger): Shotgun(Manstopper), Autogun. WS4, BS4, I4, Specialist. 65xp
Analogue (Ganger): Shotgun(Manstopper, Bolt), Bolt Pistol. BS5, T4, A2, Weaponsmith, Chemist. 104xp
Crenshaw (Ganger): Shotgun(Manstopper), Photovisor. WS4, BS4, T4, Crackshot. Head Wound, Horrible Scars. 71xp
Cherry Red (Juve=>Ganger): Autopistol, Chainsword, Photo Contacts, Smoke Bombs. WS3, BS3, S4, A3, Sprint, Chemist, Weaponsmith. 50xp
Jenny (Juve): Autopistol, Sword. WS3, W2. Hates all Wildly Firing's Gang. 15xp
Kid A (Juve=>Ganger): Lasgun(Hotshot Pack), Autopistol. WS3, BS5, T4, I4. 54xp
Cornelius (Juve): Laspistol. BS3, W2, A2. 17xp
Wonderboy (Juve): Nowt
Stagger Lee(Ratskin): Lasgun. WS4, A2, Evade

Stash: 11 Creds, Autogun, Spur, Kalma
Gang Rating: 2229!!!

And please, NO MORE JUVES! I don't want any! Leave me alone! :D

*sigh*
My girls ain't doing so good.
After four games I've had two deaths, which wouldn't be too bad if I wasn't playing Spyrers!
Here's the current line up;
Papillon (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS5 S3 T4 W1 I3 A1 Ld7 Escape Artist, Old Battle Wound, Partially Deafened. Exp. 43
Blackbird (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I4 A1 Ld7 Fast Shot, Escape Artist, Partially Deafened. Exp. 38
Prima Fusion (Yeld): M5 WS4 BS4 S3 T3 W2 I4 A1 Ld7 Shell Shocked (included in profile) Exp. 62
Gang Rating: 743

I used to have another with two wounds but she was killed by Catferret. I used to have one who had S4 guns and was more difficult to hit but Karnesdorff killed her.
On the plus side, I've captured Karnesdorff's Priest and a Rescue mission counts towards the ten games I have to play before I can get replacements! Only five to go after that! I suppose I should get my Patriarch built and used before it's to late.

PS: Blackbird started with Fastshot and still hasn't gained a second atttack. :(

Poor old Katinka seems to be cursed with Necromunda. His last Escher gang faired pretty similarly and kept losing models and was unable to replace them. His angel-style Juve did get Sprint and Leap. Guess those tinsel covered wings weren't just for show...

Sad to see Katinka's yelds aren't doing so hot. They're part of the inspiration that's driving me to make an all jakara spyrer team to get my necro on with (the other part is $$ and time :P). Did you really not roll that many boost upgrade things? One of the coolest spyrer bits IMO, guess your ladies' armor just wasn't feeling it ...

And do get the doom bunny done!

That was only if I needed it that evening! I didn't use him in that game though. I'll try to get it done before Karnesdorff's rescue attempt. (Or try to avoid playing the rescue until its done? :D)

Palatine Katinka
06-03-2007, 23:18
Karnesdorff and I resolved the rescue mission tonight and amazingly my three girls won! It wasn't very eventful, the Redemptionists failed to be stealthy, setting off the alarm with their first shot! We exchanged some shots but sadly the Redemptionists only scored three hits and none of them wounded, followed by them bottling because three guys were down/out. I think the Deacons had a secret plan to get rid of the old Priest, especially since the one who got promoted failed to hit when he had the chance to shoot Prima Fusion at short range with a Bolt Pistol!

Here's the current line up;
Papillon (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS5 S3 T4 W1 I3 A2 Ld7 Escape Artist, Old Battle Wound, Partially Deafened. Exp. 63
Blackbird (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS4 S3 T3 W2 I4 A1 Ld7 Fast Shot, Escape Artist, Partially Deafened. Exp. 57
Prima Fusion (Yeld): M5 WS4 BS4 S4 T3 W2 I4 A1 Ld7 Shell Shocked (included in profile) Exp. 86
Gang Rating: 806

Five games down, five to go before I can get a couple of clones out of the tanks.

Where's everyone gone? What happened to the other people playing in this campaign? If anyone is reading this...

I played another two games, lost. The first because I still can't pass Bottle Tests and the second because my opponent only rolled ones for his recovery tests. Kinda annoying when his Leader goes from "Down" to only "Flesh Wound" after only one turn. Still, thanks to my lack of fighters, I still recieved a ton of exp. for being the underdog!

Here's the current line up;
Papillon (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS5 S3 T4 W1 I4 A2 Ld7 Escape Artist, Marksman, 2x Old Battle Wound, Partially Deafened. Exp. 104
Blackbird (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS5 S3 T3 W2 I4 A1 Ld7 Fast Shot, Escape Artist, Partially Deafened. Exp. 81
Prima Fusion (Yeld): M5 WS5 BS3 S4 T3 W2 I4 A1 Ld7 Shell Shocked, Blinded in One Eye. (both included in profile) Exp. 112
Gang Rating: 897

Papillon has finally started wounding people and hopefully she'll turn up to make use of her new-found sniping abilities! Blackbird now has a better chance of hitting and will hopefully gain an extra Attack one of these days (she started with Fast Shot!) Prima Fusion, she was always the odd one. I should've known when WS was her first advance. With WS5 and S4, she's a surprising combat Yeld and now she's worse at shooting too! I'm tempted to replace her if she doesn't get something sensible soon. A Ld increase would save her.

Seven games down, three to go...

Well in Chester things are moving towards a conclusion, 2 weeks for the campaign to run with the final (Lord of the Spyre) being played on the 27th.
I've held my place at the top of the ratings chart by the skin of my teeth and every low down dirty trick I could get away with (rumours of a 1 in a million bolt pistol changing hands and the Imperial Inquisition being in my pay will remain unconfirmed from this source...).
My rating is 2890, I have 2 guys on BS5, the gang who offered a bounty on my heavy can't pay it, (not that they have to) and it looks like there may be gangs with ratings over 3000 slugging it out for the final battle.
The Scavvies which were threatening to overrun everyone at one stage have slumped into lower orders , taking the plague zombies with them and the Cawdor have dragged themselves off the bottom of the table. Ogryns have reappeared, at least temporarily...
My Beastmaster's rats are gaining a reputation all their own as a trail of half gnawed gangers testify.

I'm still here! well, not if you count 'here' as what my avatar says, have gone back home til the 27th. Gang's doing ok, I now have four juves, three of whom are Hounds, the fourth being my 'settlement' juve - decided whenever I roll a 6 I'll be recruiting some 'local talent', in the form of some lovely young ladies (Escher Juves, yay!)

Also, I've ended up with a WS5 Heavy carrying a Stubber, think he'll be downgrading to a flamer (and my trusty power maul) as soon as I master converting one from a Kroot Rifle...

Seven games down, three to go... getting close! that's three games in a row without anyone dying, right? ;)
Looks like I'll end up facing them once they've been back over the wall and bolstered their numbers, then. More of a challenge for sure...

Last week of the campaign and everyone's cashed in their archeotech hoards...
I'm out in front going into the last battle with a gang rating of 3651 having spent all but 3 of my creds on hired guns, (My regular Beastmaster and his rats, plus making their debut, Kal Jerico and Scabbs) and some random equipment.
I'm expecting 'Lord of the Spyre' but that might change on the day.
I've made it all this way without a single member of the gang getting killed, or even that badly hurt. My Gambling Den didn't cost me anything and I even survived several weeks being the target of every wannabe bounty hunter, though it did cost me a couple of weeks income.
The campaign arbitrator's gang cashed in their archeotechs for a total of 700+ creds but came through with 135, I looks like they had a good night out...;)

Played the last three games of my vow tonight. First game, I fail to achieve much until Prima Fusion made into combat and kicked in a group of three Cawdor. Doesn't say much for the others if the highlight is a Yeld in combat! Sadly, Papillon died from the many Bolt shells and Las blasts she took. On the plus side I captured Weregerbil's Heavy.

Next, the two girls (Blackbird and Prima Fusion) tried to take on a gang of Pit Slaves. Blackbird gave covering fire for Prima Fusion as she charged head-long into the Pit Chief as killing him was my objective. Blows were exchanged and a fellow Pit Slave entered the fray. The fighting continued as both sides accumulated Flesh Wounds until eventually they pinned her down and killed her. (Captured)

Third game of the evening (as those were surprisingly quick) was Weregerbil's Cawdor trying to get their BS 5 heavy back. As it was the last game before completing the vow and I had one Spyrer left alive, I chose to call in the Patriarch. Oh my God! He's a tank! 2D3 shots at anyone in 30", BS 5, 2+ armour save, T4, W3! I'll have to reward him by actually making a proper model and not just using a Tau Gun Drone next time. Fear the floaty bunny of doom! Blackbird failed to hurt anyone before running out of ammo but the Patriarch scared away the Cawdor rescue force and the Heavy has now been killed.

Now that my first vow is complete, the team is back at full strength with four fresh Yeld. The Gang Rating jumped from 309 to 1140!

Here's the current line up;
Papillon (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I3 A1 Ld7 Dive. Exp. 6
Blackbird (Yeld): M5 WS2 BS5 S3 T2 W2 I4 A1 Ld7 Fast Shot, Escape Artist, Crack Shot, Partially Deafened, Hand Injury (two fingers from right hand), Chest Wound. Exp. 116
Prima Fusion (Yeld): M5 WS4 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I3 A1 Ld7 Exp. 6
Intera Blazer (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS4 S3 T3 W1 I3 A1 Ld7 Escape Artist. Exp. 6
Ultra Guardian (Yeld): M5 WS3 BS5 S3 T3 W1 I3 A1 Ld7 Exp. 6
Gang Rating: 1140
(All Injury effects have been included in profiles.)

I'm quite happy with the starting skills of the new four, Papillon can run and hide while in plain view (Yeld suit generic ability + Dive), Prima Fusion is exactly how her predecessor started (I'll miss her, she'd just found her element), Intera Blazer gained the protection from Captured ensuring she wont go the way of the first Prima Fusion and Intera Blazer (both died from Captured) and, finally, Ultra Guardian, it's always good to be BS5 (hopefully she'll cause some wounds).

Ten games down, time to kill five people...

Ahhhhhhhhhhh way to be, looked dicey for the girls toward the end of the vow there. Nice to see Patriarch kicked tail, and cool how your gang rating just went up 800+ points! Ha!

I wasn't keeping track but I think I racked up 4 during those ten games. With a little better performance I should be able to manage 5 in a similar time frame. Considering that Blackbird ended the vow with 110 Exp. more than she started, earning 200 per team member sounded like a stupid choice!
