Well well, my friend doesn't seem to learn haha, I recently kicked his butt at Mordheim, and now he is challenging me to the BEST games workshop game EVER, what he fails to realise is that I have NEVER lost a game of Gothic, oh dear, I must go and write a fleet list to kill him, I wonder what I should take lol, oh btw its a 3000pt game, largest I have ever played, and he is using Orks, with lots of Brute rams HAHA they will fall, like wheat to the scythe.

will show you my choices later, gotta go decide hehe

Am I a terrible person if I hope you lose?

This doesn't sound like a fair fight.

none, just Ram ships and cruisers, unsure which types.

like I say, he will fly to his own destruction

I love ramships... once had a nice run on a Retribution with a squad of four... three of them totally bit the biscuit in their ram runs, and did no damage but the fourth scored two hits.. both rolled for criticals... one hullbreach and one bulkhead collapse... rolled a six for the bulkhead... took the retribution out... it went plasma overload and started a solid chain of popcorned Imperial and Ork ships.... never have I seen one little ship do so much damage... the final toll was 1 battleship, 6 cruisers (3 ork, 3imp) and about a doz of escorts from both sides...

HAHA well Ram ships are deadly in large numbers, and 100 sure is a large number lol, and for the first time in 45 games I may lose a cruiser (not including lights and Escorts, I have lost them) but with my faith in the Emperor I cannot loose (i hope *gulp* 100 sheesh)

May the might of the Imperial Navy prevail over all!

May I inquire what model or conversion you are using to represent your Endeavors? I only ask because I'm currently making some myself :).

Actually I'm borrowing the two conversions off my mate, I usually use Dauntless class Cruisers, but I wanted to use them, its weird really, why would GW make rules for such great ships, but I have never seen models for them??????? why lol

They did make models for them.

The master molds broke before mass production began, and were never re-crafted.

Man that sucks, I want those models, not just some conversions, I WANT THEM NOW!!!...........sorry, ahem, but yeah I wonder if FW will do any, I hope they do, such a gorgeous and useful class of ship should be a model

*** for the DP.

Well I had the game today, and it went well indeed haha, unfortunatly I had to replace the Endeavor with Dauntless cruisers, but hey thats not a bad thing really.

deployment, I deploy all my ships in one long line, with all cruisers with torpedoe launchers in base to base (so every cruiser lol).

My opponent deplys in one MASSIVE block (mistake no1)

Turn 1 (I win roll)

First I fire one MASSIVE salvo of torpedoes at my enemy, thats it really lol.

He advances, but begins to split fleet into 2 halves (mistake no2 lol)

Turn 2

I advance every ship except the Dictators and dauntless cruisers, to the right of the board, the Dictators and Dauntless hold there ground at the centre of the back of the board, the plan to be to slow down or stop the advancing second fleet.

My opponent continues to advance form both directions straight into my gunning range (mistake no3 haha)

Turn 3

Every ship on the right advances and turns 45 degrees, bringing all weapons to bear, My oppening salvo leaves 10 Brute rams dead, and 1 cruiser Crippled, not bad for starters lol

But still he advances, firing the few guns he has, but only taking down shields and the occasional point here and there, but nothing to worry about really

turn 4 (the nasty turn lol)

Well all my guns are in range now, even the escorts, so its lock-on orders across the board (failing non lol) and open fire on the right, after that side was finished, 21 Brute rams were dust, and his 2 cruisers were heavily damaged, the previous one was destroyed (oh god that was good), meanwhile my dictators and dauntless were launching wave after wave of bombers and torpedoes at the second fleet, a few things dying, but it was being slowed down

My opponent falters in his advance, he takes this whole turn turning away from torpedoes and and bambers, and on the right he seems preoccupied with manouvering into some kind of attack position (mistake no4, taking his time with few ships)

Turn 5 (the decider)

well this turn was a simple matter of mopping up on the right flank (which was done, and more stalling on the centre/left

My opponent, withdraws and surrenders

well that was the easiest game ever, only 2 ships lost (1 firestorm, 1 sword) and I feel good lol.

ship of the match was both Tyrant Cruisers, they struck hard and fast from ranges the orks could not match

Now switch fleets and beat him.

lol well hes challenged me again, but this time to Necromunda (he loves the older games, and I cannot blame him) so expect me to post gang there or summit.

I would swap, but 100 ram ships is not the kinda list I would go for, but I might play him again with Chaos, hehe Repulsive Grand Cruisers galore HAHA

Were there no celestial phenomena?

Stella Cadente
29-01-2007, 00:34
naah we couldn't really be bothered to carry on remembering all the rules, there was a small planet and a few asteroids, but in reality they really made no difference to either of our tactics lol (not that orks really have any)

Imperials in range on turn 4?

So you play on a small table, AND with no celestial phenomina?

I could not do that. Anthing less than 4x8 for 3000pts is criminal.
