oh my god, thats the coolest defiler I have ever seen . is that a carnifex head?
how do you represent the battlecannon? I guess those barrels in his torso, am I right?

If you put that down on the table I'd quit and give you a Good Game just for your scarry as hell I'm having nightmares for a week model.

Damn man - thats incredible!!!! HQ or UHQ pics please?

Bowing to your 1337 model skills,

Fred

Wow! Golden Daemon Golden Daemon Golden Daemon! *chants* Freaking awesome!
Hm yeah that definitely is a carnifex head, and the battle cannon is an old Empire helblaster.

Oh and the photos are very good. I've got nothing to complain about there.

Er, lack of netiquette on my part here but what's the HQ/UHQ question? And people don't tend to quit, they just tend to point all their really really big guns at it as soon as they can:cries:

The battlecannon is indeed the hellblaster, gone for the kind of barrage idea rather than one big gun.

The head is the carnifex but split down the middle and made wider with green stuff and cocktail sticks for teeth.

Thanks indeed for comments (blushes) seems to have worked, will upload pics of my other stuff in the next couple of days.

Awesome work! Excellent job with the Carnifex head conversion, it works brilliantly!
Did you sculpt the torso yourself?

Wow I really like the wood on the defiler! the skin tone is also great but I dislike it so mutated but thatīs only a difference in taste. The volley gun was a nice tuch first time I seen something like that very cool. The conversion is top notch and the painting almost flawless great stuff now give us more :D really nice keep it up

HQ = high quality - generally taken to be 1024x768 or greater

UHQ = Ultra High Quality - generally taken to be 1600x1200 or greater

If you had access to a camera like that of course......if not.......take that model into your nearest store and plop it down on the counter and say 'Your finest camera please - or else I let him loose in the store.....':D

Yeah, pop over! I now have two spare bedrooms in my house! I am currently ebaying nothing, setting myself up as self-employed with the government and boring things like that, although I grabbed the Dark Angels army deal and have the Librarian done and the Limited Master half done so soon they will be going up.

Fantastic! The wooden armour is particulary unique, and the entire vibe of the model is very Chaosy.

Very Nurgaly...Nurgly? Nurgalish? NurgaliciousŪ!

Ah whatever, wicked pissah as we say in these parts. Looks a little Doom-ish as well, which is always great in my book.

Probably the best Defiler I've ever seen. Reminds me of Doom/Quake.

Kudos for using a He-Mantorso.

Does anyone else feel strong nostalgia to the first Doom Games when looking at this? Because i do :D

This is stunning, the idea, the execution, everything!

Doom, or maybe quake 2 and 4 (which are practically Doom sequels, I know.), yes indeed!

A really nice conversion!

You remember correctly, it lived there while I worked in the store, who might you be??

Thanks for the props guys, will put some more pics of other stuff up though I've got a bit:rolleyes: The rest of my Deathguard aren't as good, they were done on and off over about 9 years and this is the most recent bit so it's the best model there. Done some Beastmen since which I'm pretty proud of and a few single models which I'm goin' to up any second now...

I'm going to be tedious and agree with everyone else - that is a bloody good defiler! Not only is it a fantastic conversion but the paintjob is spot on too! Nice one!

Well, since this has been resurrected, I'm sure the question on everyone's mind is whether or not this guy's work inspired the new Soulgrinder model. Interesting....

I think the reason this has been ressurected is because I posted a link to it in the Soulgrinder thread asking just such a question.
I must say the two models bare a striking resemblance, and I'd like to see a 'touche' to GW's IP pedantry.:D

OMGZ!!1! You ripped off the Soulgrinder idea just like GW ripped off Blizzard ;)

Nah, its awesome, really well done. On the plus side, you can use it as a normal defiler or a soulgrinder when the rules are released. Brucey Bonus!

I don't often post for models unless they're exceptionally good, so I'd just like to say;

That is one of the most awesome defilers I have EVER seen, and you did that before even the Soulgrinder came out :D Congratz on a most epic showcase :)
