Hey. I am building/painting both a 1000 point and 1500 point armies of Thousand Sons. So, here is my work so far. Please forgive my nubbish paint jobs, I suffer from chronic shaky-hand syndrome and I am slowly overcoming it. Also, my camera is a piece... so it highlights stuff that isnt there (I.E. the large, bright blue spot on my completed AC) and makes a lot of stuff more streaky than it is (Rhino).

If you see a mold line on a marine (other than sorceror), it's there on purpose. To make my Rubric Marines more... i dunno, fluffish? I decided to show that their armour had literally been welded shut, the mould lines being the areas in which the mystic fire of Tzeentch bound their armoured plates together.

I'll be using Getz (via ReDavide's log) method for my completion log.
Stuff in Green is Finished, or at worst in a presentable state. Squads will only go green once they are complete and all painted.Stuff in Yellow is incomplete ranging from barely put together to WIP but unpresentable paint jobs on complete models. In the instance of squads I either have the whole squad but it's not fully painted, or I may have painted most of the suad to completion, but am missing a few figures.Stuff in Red I haven't started to construct or worse, I don't even own yet... In the case of squads this means I own less than half the required models and they are unpainted

Here is everything completed so far.

All of my uncompleted stuff. Along with these minis, I have an unopened predator, rhino, an unordered FW Dreadnought, and my Lord.

My second squad. ~1/4th of the way completed.

My Sorceror AC from my first squad. (that highlight really isn't there... and the bottom robe thing isn't so streaky. Also, his head-dress isn't so blotchy and the shoulderpad doesn't look like it's oozing purple light...)

My "completed" rhino. It needs FW doors then It'll be done. Again, streakiness is bad... it's the camera I swear.

My assembled but un-base coated Termies.

My thralls. They are the Witchunter psykers. I've only removed large, random pieces of metal from one. Though i've clipped the tubing off of two. They will eventually look more mutated and used.

My 5 "finished" screamers. Their spikes are getting a new run over with Bleached Bone/Skull white mixture.

Just a cool, though accidental picture that I felt needed to be shown to the world. It kind of shows the ever-changing power of Tzeentch.

Awesome \m/:evilgrin: \m/ you're really copming along as a painter. I actually like how the sorcerrer's (sp) cloak tip looks a little runny, makes it look ragged and dirty. The only negative I see is that the Rhino just seems lacking in color and as heads up, you might wnat to cilp off those Inquisition symbols on the thralls.

I do quite like the idea of seals taht you are starting to use. It might work better fi you actually sculpted it where it doe snot appear clearly.
I'll be honest and say the rhino doesn't look great. I like the seal, but, possibly becuase of the pic, it looks like there was a wash put over the blue, which has made it quite blotchy, adn the paint is uneven. It might be better to keep all highlighting there to just edges, and make any parts that do not have converted parts(i.e. forgeworld doors) as smooth as possible.

There's soem rather good potential goign on here, just watch out for your gold, as it doesn't compliment the guys I've seen it on so far. It could be a little thick, but I can't really tell.
Keep at it, it could look very good soon!:)

Yeah... the inquisition symbols will be filed off. On the one that is going to be used as is (without symbol, tubing, or anything), it's already gone.

My rhino doesn't look as bad as it does in that pic... My camera goes insane at times, and I guess it didn't like me today. The darker blue is very even, not streaky, and doesn't look as bad.

Also, on my marines it sometimes sees straight through the top layer of paint and goes right down to the undercoats (Blue spots on legs of my marines)... The head-dresses on my first squad, really, really, really sucked... I'm doing those over now.

Don't you love the way digital cameras pic up all the stuff you cant see with the naked eye? :P

Have you thought of getting a blue spray at all? I've found it the quickest way to get a good even coat of colour onto a model, especially tanks. Then just paint over details with black/white then paint up as you wish. (personally go with black.)

Do you thin your paints down at all? Agree the gold does look a little thick on the photos, and if you're up to it, a thinned brown ink wash would bring the gold out much more. I do like the contrast of the gold though.

Love the power sword on the Sorcerer, I've saved the image into my "inspiration" folder on my PC, hope you don't mind? :) Overall, good job. :D

Yeah... Thinned paints. On that first squad, I was like "Thin... wha?" and so I didn't do it. That was my main problem with painting them and why they look so cruddy. My second squad looks better, I promise.

The thing I wa saying abou the Rhino is that if you look at other painted rhinos, they are very rarely all one color, I think you should consider doing some triming.

Sorry I have no new pics for you guys, but I do have a question. I'm putting a busted up Space Marine head on my 2nd AC's base, what would be a good legion's scheme to use (I can't use space wolves cause they got the funky hair... and I'm not that good at Greenstuffing).

P.S. I've been experimenting with my camera and I think that it'll take better pictures now. Less sketchy, no non-existant details etc.

Hey man whats up? its been a while since we last talked. Not all SW have crazy hair:eek: , some do wear plain SM helmets. The Thousand Sons also have a huge rivalry with the Death Guard.
