Here's some pics of the first flight of thunderbolts from the Phantine XVII's Stingray Squadron. I decided to go with the post Battle of Britain RAF camoflauge scheme in use from 1941-1947. It's the base colors at the moment, no highlighting or weathering, or squadron markings.

I was contemplating a wing leading edge yellow strip, a white band around the aft fuselauge, and a yellow stingray on the tail. Although the rest of me wants to go with modern low-viz markings, low viz grey imperial eagles, numbers, stingray etc. Perhaps the CO gets a hi-viz bird and everyone else gets the low-viz?

nice work, they look excellent.

That's also the first ones I've seen with bombs fitted. I like it :D

Those hellstrike/skystrike missiles are a real pig to fit - any tips as to how you got them on?

Thanks for the props.

As for fitting the Hellstrikes...a lot of superglue and patience.

Great work, are you using Magnets to attach the bird to the stand?

Well, I was torn between getting some Tau or Imperial Stuff, now I am
definately going Imperial.

Excelent work! Maybe I will paint mine in that scheme too. Where do you get those missiles? My models has arrived without them.

Very nice work on the Thunderbolts, they make for a pretty squadron. Also props on their background. I loved Double Eagle and it's cool to see someone playing the Phantine squadron.

very nice, is there any chance you could post up what colours you used for the top and bottom scheme as i'm trying to think of a scheme for my 40k scale vulture and yours looks good enough to steal :D

Dont worry, the T-Bolts dont come with missiles. The Marauder Destroyer does, and I assume the regular Marauder would have them too. You get spares.

There will be a lot of Phantine squadrons after Double Eagle... a LOT of Phantine squadrons :)

No magnets. I'm just carefully drilling a 5/64" hole in the bottom of all my models which allows for a pretty tight fit.

The missiles indeed came with my Marauder Destroyers. You get 12 and only have mounting points for 8. Is it bad that I'm considering buying two more just to get the missiles for my Thunderbolts?

Colour scheme, I'm in love with Testor's Acrylics when it comes to painting my military hardware. Although it probably has more to do with those are my airbrush paints and I want the same colors on my AI scale models as I have on my 40K scale ones.

The top is German Uniform Fieldgrau (Similar to Ocean Grey) with RAF Dark Green and the bottom is Flat Gull Grey. I was going to use a color closer to the true RAF Medium Sea Grey, but I found the Flat Gull Grey gave a more asthetically appealling contrast. I used this website ( http://wp.scn.ru/en/camo/schemes/9/s1 ) as my reference for the schemes.

They should sell the missiles separately, in a pack.

And id much prefer to use the Ork missiles than Hellstrikes as Skystrikes... they look a lot more like Air-To-Air weapons. But you dont get anywhere near enough!

It is really fortunate that I have four ork missiles then...
My thanks, Tyra_Nid
