This batrep will contain no narrative as it is plain to see what happens from the photos.
The whole game was a case of units shooting at the closest thing to them...apart from the two broadsides that shot at the land raider continually.

Okay, well I can understand why you didn't type the whole thing out as a Batrep as that really slows down the game and it's quite a lot of typing. Still, it'd be fun to read what's actually going on, and hear about funny incidents like rolling eight '1's, or your Land Raider surviving Railgun shots all game and then being taken out by an Ork Rokkit [or whatever].

This is the scenario featured in a WD a long while ago where Black Templar, Ulthwé, Orks and Chaos fought over some temple in the center of the board [in which Phil made a lot of stupid moves with his Eldar, IIRC], right?

The paintjob on those Tau rather irritate me...

Yup, it's the 'Carnage' game

None of these models are mine. Just the scenery is mine.
My deathwing appear in the second battle report I will actually be writing up (from the Deathwing viewpoint)

Deathwing batrep postponed until I'm not busy...

I don't want to sound too negative, but this is not a battle report. This is six pictures.

The pictures pretty much says what happened? What happened to the Land Raider? Who took that out? What happened to the Dark Angels player? Why on earth did his Dreadnought, the only thing that survived the game(that I can see anyway), move as far away from the mission objective as possible?

The land raider was taken out my the broadside
The Dark Angels player got carried away with his dreadnought burning and stomping on Imperial Guardsmen...and forgot about the objective.

I also have to say that this is not a battle report to me. Maybe just a few sentences next time so we can follow the battle a bit. A wee bit of storytelling elements also woudn't hurt in my opinion.

Looked cool to me, the 'report' at least. I don't care much for typing play-by-play either. And, the pics DO tell the story, though I have a few queries about the scenario.

Why did the units setup on the board edges and not in quarters? This gave the Tau and IG a pretty steep disadvantage in distance to the objective, though not too much for the mobile suits. It also gave the Orks and DA an even greater disadvantage to have to start the game flanked by shooty armies and facing each other. Who could hold an objective like that? The cover was too sparce for them to have an even chance. From the first picture, I gave the win to the Tau. Using modified table quarters for deployment would have solved much of this problem, I think.

All the same, thanks for sharing.

A wee bit confusing, but very good pictures none the less!

Ok ok...

I've got another batrep for you.
This one was actually possible to write up because I was playing in it.
This is all from the perspective of my Deathwing army.

sorry it's on another forum....but I'm lazy and want to add to the evergrowing Deathwing Tactica thread
