How do spider riders work versus defended obstacles, I know they ignore difficult terrain and such but does that count versus a defended obstacle?

They "are not slowed" by difficult terrain and obstacles. This is an obvious reference to movement, but does it include HtH? I say yes.

AFAIK, the defended obstacle rule still applies to them. Wall-crawlers just helps them get where theyr'e going. Only flyers get to ignore the defended obstacle rule (again AFAIK).

I would follow the ruling for ethereal units in the vampire counts faq, which states that while they can move through obstacles with no penalty, they still suffer from the defended obstacle rule.

Thanks I never could figure this out but I now will be able to laugh when my oppenent strings his forces out with his fast moving spiders and wipe them out when they run into my obsacles before his support comes up
