Their from that siegemasters log if I recall, but I didn't know he had any intention of selling them. I smell a rat.

Also, I could never part with such an awsome conversion, no matter how much I needed the money.

Yes these Ragnaroks were in the Baran Siegemasters thread on the modelling forums.. I believe built by Xuchilibra..

I was following that thread, and he had not stated then that these were up for sale.. so this does sound suspicious.. handle with care..

Xuchilibra! That's his name, of course.

Better tread lightly, could be fraud.

Ultramar on the Work in Progress forums is casting a selling resin Ragnoroks, not sure if these are some of them. Whoever made them they are not Forgeworld as mentioned in the eBay post

Ok so lets look at the facts then.

- they are indeed Xuchilbaras models
- Theres no word from Xuchilbara weather he's selling his models or not
- the model isn't forgeworld, so what would the seller have to gain from such a deception if he has nothing but honest intentions
- the sellers had mostly good feedback
- Its possible that Xuchilbara and the seller are one and the same, they both come from Oz.

So thats it, but let me not I'm not trying to start some massive internet flame war, just trying to route out the facts. No word from Xuchilbara yet, but I assume he can clear things up.

Also, apolgys to anyone who got a bit disturbed when I slipped into Poirot mode just then.

not to be pedantic, but why would a main battle tank be on a chimera chassis?

I'd avoid this auction like the plague, unless verified by the original poster of the pix :eyebrows:

Ragnarok tanks, as far as I know, are used in the place of lemun russ's if the supplys and facilitys to produce battle tanks arn't available.

I remember someone from GW doing some of these, they looked cool, I'll try and find the pics

Dave Taylor made them for his Vostroyans...I think its under the Cities of Death section on the GW website. Ragnaroks seem to have become quite popular nowadays...

Hmm, something about those tanks screams "T-34" to me. It must be the low chassis and the ratio of the turret-chassis size.

I couldn't find them on the site, but I did save pics from when I last saw it, for inspiration at a latter time and date

Looks like a Russian KV-1

Xuchilbaras did mention in his blog that they are not his creations, but those of a freind. I believe he mentioned that the freind had also posted them on WIP.

If Penguin of Death is Correct about Ultramar on WIP casting these, then they maybe the real deal. If you are going to bid, ask some questions first.

As I remember, Xuchilbara regularly sells his work so there's nothing surprising in itself on finding them on Ebay.

Incidentally, the Ragnarok is very clearly inspired by the Russian KV-2 (http://www.battlefield.ru/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=48&Itemid=50) tank...

all GW needs to do for the ragnarok is to create a turret sprue to go on the chimera chassis i would think
the siegfried would be harder to do but forgeworld can do it based on the centaur chassis

Well, I now know what the basis of the MD Tanks from "Advance Wars" are. :-p

I think the models are good, but The tank commander looks tiny due to the huge turret. Still, it's an interesting pair of models.

Not quite, if you look at the epic model the Ragnarok's treads are uncovered and dont follow the rhomboid shape of other IG tanks. If anything the ragnarok's tracks look more like the tracks of the KV series its clearly based on. Though it doesnt have that cool drooping track effect at the top of the treads.

but that would be asuming GW wants to keep fidelity of specialist models being translated into 40k
