I decided I would share my foolishness here before having its effects finally start to pour into my Project Log.

So, one day I got this bright idea to check out eBay listings for Battlefleet Gothic. You know, maybe snag some cheap escorts or something.

2 weeks later, this is what I ended up with [all NIB or at least unpainted]:

Imperial Navy

14 Plastic Imperial Cruisers

Chaos

1 Planet Killer
2 Desolater Battleships
2 Repulsive Grand Cruisers
5 Plastic Chaos Cruisers
6 Infidels
3 Idolaters
9 Iconoclasts
1 Doomfire Blister

Orks

1 Kill Kroozer
2 Terror Ships
9 Onslaughts
9 Ravagers
6 Savages
4 Brute Ramships

Eldar

1 Voidstalker
1 Eclipse
3 Aconites
[and I bid on about another 40 escorts but lost :(, thank goodness for my wallet ;) ]

Miscellaneous

1 Necron Tombship
1 Dark Eldar Corsair with some bitz
1 Blackstone Fortress
OOP books 2002 Annual and Warpstorm
Gaming counters and such of one boxed game

And I'm never going to look at eBay ever again, lest I turn into the DeadlyHeadly of BFG.

Hehe, he may not have spent a ton of money. A few years back I got a 3000 point eldar corsair fleet in a number of auctions. The auctions were for "batlefleet gothic" (one "T") miniatures, no one bid against me...

Ouch, bet that seller felt silly.

All in all I've spent about 65% MSRP for the stuff, all of it new. Not too bad I don't think.

Not content with blowing one check, I opted for a second one with PayPal buyer credit, and spent the entire allotment on this auction:

Be sure to note the contents of the Tackle Box amidst all that hooplah.

I need an Intervention.

Heh, nice haul dude - you've probably been competing against me on some of this as well, but I mainly use ebay.co.uk. I did win a nice Tau Explorer, Hero, 3 Messenger and 7 orca auction from the states recently though :)

Good lord, that chaos stuff alone makes me DROOL. I'd kill to get that sort of stuff anything near 60% off! AND GOOD LORD @ the forgeworld stuff!!!

Last two packages arrived today, here's the final breakdown of everything I got:

And yes, that is the final breakdown. No more!

... at least not until more Eldar escorts and FW Tau show up for bids...

What you bought in one splurge for chaos I intend to have as my end "massive fleet" with a few tweaks :P. Power to you for getting it cheap (in the sense that you didn't pay full price, I have no doubt it was expensive :D)

Oh it wasn't cheap, all in all I've dropped two paychecks on BFG stuff. [One right away, the other over time though buyer credit]

Which buy the way, if you're a 20-something US Resident in desperate need of some credit [since "no credit" is considered bad credit], PayPal buyer credit is a useful tool. You have to apply for the card first, which is yucky and I wouldn't recommend it, but if you know you'll get declined it's not a big deal. The $500 credit limit "buyer credit" paypal-only is just about impossible to get declined on, there's no interest on it for three months [easy to pay back] and then if you choose not to use it anymore, it's an account that will stay open, with the status "Account in Good Standing", which is a VERY good thing for your credit report.

It isn't available in the UK, but then I'm not hip on international economics so I don't know if a Credit Report is such a big deal or even exists over there.

hahah there is literally little to nothing of worth of chaos BFG on ebay atm. There's one decent sized lot but it has a lot of imperial stuff as well. For 130 US 9current bid) it might be worth it for the capital ships included (as well as at least 10 escorts I can see in the pics).

Question though, every despoiler I've seen is metal... EXCEPT the one in this ebay auction (left of picture) http://i11.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/97/15/eab9_12.JPG

Is this a newer version? Did I miss the re-release on my leave of BFG?

IncrediSteve

I saw that too, and it's actually just primed a shockingly plastic-like color of gray. You can tell by looking at the stand in the other pic, it's the same color and there have definitely been no plastic molds of flight stands that are not clear.

hahaha okay, I thought I was crazy there for a second. I mean when does GW update chaos BFG :P

What a motherload! *gawks* Just what the heck are you going to do with *fourteen* Imperial cruisers? You can only legally field twelve at a time! :p

IncrediSteve
14-04-2007, 02:53
Well, 14 was just from those purchases.

I had 10 to begin with, so 24.

12 of them are standard cruisers, 6 are Battlecruisers, and between the 7 Dauntless and the 6 extra I've got an Armageddon style reserve fleet as well.
