View Full Version : Grey Knight Sketch

Well I was bored and not wanting to paint or play WoW or do much else I figured I'd flex my drawing muscles. So I grabbed a sheet of paper and a pencil (a big ugly 0.7 mechanical one) and started to doodle a Space Marine. At first he was just going to be a normal one but as I went he started turning into a Grey Knight. After about an hour of fiddling around here's what we have so far.

Yes it's messy but hey that's what happens when I rush. I'll finish his lower body and right arm either later today or tomorrow. Comments and whatnot welcome. Enjoy!

Whoa, nice picture...

But the Storm Bolter seems a bit small, or is it just hidden behind the arm?

nice so far

the storm bolter does seem a lil' tiddly, but i'm sure it'll sort itsself out in the end, apart from that, awesome

I think the storm bolter is based on the ones drawn in a picture from the Malleus Codex - they are smaller than the ones on the actual minis', which look utterly stupid on the regular Power Armoured variety.

I love this picture - don't clean it up too much, the faint sketch lines give it a nice texture.

Well I changed his left shoulderpad, added an ammofeed, and bulked up the bolter (well made it thicker :eyebrows: ). Didn't have time to finish the legs yet but they will get done.

Would you mind if I copy that (by drawing, not by photocopier) and show it to my art teacher? Because I love the little bugger and his wrinkled loincloth ;) .

Some excellent work there! Well done.

Note to self: take lessons on how to draw loincloths like that.

I like it, but the storm bolter is WAY too small. It's two thirds it's proper thickness and half it's proper length!

Looks good so far!

Will look forward to seeing it finished!

and you said that was hasty work?!?

LIGHT!, that`s a better drawing than I`ve even managed to do!

Nicely done. :) Going to finish it at any time?

Itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny polka-dot storm bolter.

Great work! If I was going to nit-pick, I would say his right arm looks a bit too thin (it's supposed to be quite a thick suit of armour, after all), but I'm not going to do that, so I'll just say it looks great :)
