So im getting into blood bowl. Atleast i think. Anyway probelm is i already converted my human team and dont want to spend 75$ to get a few templates, a peice of cardboard, a few dice and a ruler.

Any idea where i can cheaply pickup a ruler/dice?

well you can read the rules online I think at the specialist games site, this one has help if you don't have the templates http://www.dangermouse.net/games/bloodbowl/rules.html

hope this helps

And as always ebay is your friend.
won't be suprized if you find both a field and rulers there.

The field can easyly be made. The ruler on the other hand is not that easy.
A search on warseer found these treads:
Custom ruler thread (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67488)
another ruler tread (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57500)
custom block dice (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47972)
Custom pitch (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39674)
All this was just a quick browes tru old treads. I know there is more.

I like the pitch you are making. I think the squares on the regular BB pitch are a tad larger, judging from your pics, but I could be wrong.

PS - I also love your Warhound Titan!

thanks bout the warhound.

They may be a tad larger, i dont have a regular pitch to go off of.
I did find the overall dimensions of the pitch online & tried to divided it up as evenly as best i could into the right number of squares. (thats whats the most important right?)

It could also apear that the reg. BB squares are larger cause my lines may be thicker.

The size of the squares are only important when throwing the ball. So check it. The range is a bit wierd. but I'll try to give you a run down.

All measurments are stright forward.
Quick = almost 4 squars
Short = a bit over 7 squars
Long = half way betwen 10 and 11
Bomb = half way betwen 13 and 14

I can give you a better measure if you like

Here (http://www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/playera.asp) has a passing chart recently uploaded to the SG site itself, in the .pdf titled passing reference

Yup thats the passing chart i found. So in theory with that chart you COULD make a bb pitch whatever size you wanted, as long as you had the right number of squares.

Yeah that's right, I don't think the size discrepancy (if there is one) will be a problem, as long as your miniatures fit neatly into the squares.

The square on the BB pitch are just under 29mm each (about 28.6mm iirc), and not all the "squares" are actually square (if you ever get a chance measure the squares on a regular pitch).

Personally, I don't think it matters to much if the squares are not quite the right size - it's the same for both sides, and it will, at most, make the difference between one passing range and the next, but if you ever start attending tournaments and/or you have an anal powergamer in your league, there might be a fuss kicked up.

All that said, a nice looking pitch. A pitch is something I've wanted to do for a whioe, but never actually got round to.

And finally, Impact! miniatures (http://www.impactminiatures.com/) have made some felt pitches that work for Blood Bowl (of course, being GW's IP, it's not "meant" for Blood Bowl;) ), though I think they're waiting for the next batch to be sent from the supplier at the moment, so they're on pre-order (http://www.impactminiatures.com/index.php?option=elfballboards).
I've brought a couple, and they work well.

My squares are right at 1 & 1/8" Inch Or 1.125" which if my memory about converting is right comes out to 28.575 mm.

Like I said, if all your squares are square, then it's not quite right. ;)

The actual board has squares of ever so slightly differing size. I believe it actually comes out to an average of 29mm per square, so 28.575 is pretty much perfect.

I know quite a few people scale their pitches up to 40mm per square so that big guys will work better and there's more room for when players get knocked over.

The passing chart takes care of your need for the template. The only thing to watch out for are interceptions. You can pretty much eyeball who should be able to intercept, but basically anyone who's square is atleast partially within a square and a half of the passing line should be able to intercept.
