Hey guys, I am on the brink of starting to paint my tau force for conflict north UK the army list is available at

So, to start us off, I have knocked out a test firewarrior. Sure, he's not the l33t-est model anywhere but I'm first of all aiming for feedback on the paint scheme.

Oh, but first of all, the required picture of my paint table, looking cleaner then usual, and my cupboard, where about half my 40k is.

hmm... i very very much like the colour scheme, don't get me wrong. the execution is, well a little flawed. don't take it personally though :)
what i mean is, the black, which you have highlighted with grey, well, you've drybrushed and got a sort of speckled egg effect.
i would suggest hand painting you're highlights, especially if you are only doing the one h/light it would boost the appearence of the model no-end.

aside from that, i like it, though would suggest a really bright lime green instead of the blue for the buttons and stuff (thats only my opinion though)

anyway, good luck mate, and i look forward to seeing how you get on :)

It makes me think of NOD. That's a pretty cool thing.

I like it, though the red could possibly do with more layers, but as a test model it's great.

Honestly, I'd reverse the paint- red armor with black fatigues. Keep the bisected helmet, looks good, and you don't get many red tau.
