Just interested would any of you out there say no if I asked to field an LATD list?

As they are opponents consent only now I just want to make sure that doing them as an army is viable before I start.

Of course not.

I'd happily let you use any list.

Anyone who says no to that should be sat on by 17 fat women.

I would definitely let you use the list.

I'd have no problem, be fun to play something different for a change

There are those who would find that arousing rather than off putting.... But yes death by fat women to those who oppose you!

No, screw "codex legal".

I would welcome a LATD army to play against.

LATD? if i knew what it was id tell you.

Lost and the Damned. It was an old list from a campaign called Eye of Terror.

I have played against them so I would not stop you.

Oh right!
yes i would let you use them.

I would absolutely let you use them. How could I use mine if I told you no? ;)

I would love to face a LatD army, no problems at all with it (as long as you can show me the rules if I wonder about something).

Zazz
07-05-2007, 20:04
you need to ask to use LatD?

isn't being allowed in the GTs the same level as being in the Codex itself?

starlight

What sort of Crack Monkey wouldn't allow LatD?

If you can produce a current GW Armylist/Codex, let's get to gaming....

LatD are just excluded from some tournaments. No reason to see them as "illegal" or "opponent's permission only" for real 40k.

Nooo, you bastard! It is not legal, I tell you... not legal... *sniff*

After all the discussion recently, then I would let you use it, again so I can (one day) use mine...

Sabbad

I would (I play LatD myself).

You sure there's an unofficial army? I took them to a Conflict event a couple of months ago. They were listed as a legal army.

Karhedron

It is hardly as if LatD are overpowered. I would have no problem with facing them (I have a regular opponent who fields Kroot Mercs which I think have a similar status).

Why such an abitrary amount? Am I missing something there? :p

To stay OT, of course I would let you use them. These "tournemant legal" shenanigoats have gone on long enough, just because an army is not usable in some obscure tournemant i'm not ever going to play in does not mean it's unplayable everywhere.

As Hellebore (IIRC) said, tournemants should be the exeception, not the benchmark.

The Underdog

Of course you should feel free to use them. Tournament legal be damned! If it's a fun and interesting army to play against then use them. From what I know of them LatD are hardly overpowered and are probably more fun to play against then many of the powergamer armies around.

The book isn't currently in print so some GW regions disallow them from their GTs. That's all. Nothing overpowered or broken. The simple fact that opponents might have a hard time reading up on them.

Like I said before, if *you* have the current book, let's get rolling dice.;)

As long as you had the rules right there in front of you I wouldn't have a problem with it. I have been cheated far too many times by trusting everyone that says "that's what this rule says."

Anyone who says no when you have the rules in front of you should be monkey stomped and have his brains put in a doggie bag for him.

Lancaster

I think a poll would have been useful

Also I would never dissallow this list, or speed freeks or kroot mercs or any of the lists along the same lines

Actually, there's a pdf of the army list on the US Games Workshop site so there should be no issue with availability. As I've said before, actually, if the legality of a Codex is based on its 'availability' then Kroot, Armoured Company, Feral Orks and LatD should actually be (somehow) more legal than a Codex you have to pay for, since they're all available for free.

Well said, well said! I agree entirely, as do my LatD armies. :)

Anubis, I would be happy to play your LatD. After all, my Berzerkers have to clean their boots every night anyway, so what does it matter whose guts is on 'em? (1/1/1) But seriously, aren't LatD regularly played anymore? And if so, WHY NOT?

Lancaster: I suppose you would use that poll to lever the fat women off, right? ;)

I would love to play against LATD, never having done so before. I've read the list and it looks like a characterful and challenging army to play. My Guard would delight in teaching some chaos scum the results of treachery.

Sir_Turalyon
08-05-2007, 01:02
Sure I would not say "not". It's perfectly legal list, and one of more characterful ones.

Chaplain Rorken of the Red Skulls, could use a few more herectic skulls on his belt. Of course. It's an awesome list.

Still a legal codex over here in the US......... I'm thinking of taking my LatD Genestealer Cult to the Baltimore GT. So of course, I'd let you use it.

LatD are fun to play against, so I wouldn´t say no. Had some of my best games against them.

I'd play your LaTD, I have them myself as a side army to my iron warriors, if nothing else at least they look cool.

Why such an abitrary amount? Am I missing something there? :p

15 are required to form a human pyramid:

....0
...00
..000
.0000
00000

and 2 are needed on each side to prevent anyone from falling off.

Don't ask me how I know this.

I don't see how anyone can object to latd. It was fair when it was accepted into all tournies and it hasn't been changed since, so the army list is still balanced.

heard LatD are bein written into new chaos codex so soo should be legal anyway

CommisarMolotov
08-05-2007, 15:35
Yeah, I'd have no problem with you using 'em - even in a tournament.

Indrid Khold
08-05-2007, 16:58
Hell yeah, use 'em. Then maybe we can improvise rules for blowing towers in half and having them fall on people and stuff like we used to do back in the olden days.

I think the "Tournament Mindset" is a bad memetic plague that has taken root in the hobby, and done it serious harm. The game is supposed to be fun, for cryin' out loud.

I would be delighted if this actually happens. Chaos is so much more than a bunch of traitor marines and daemons. Bring back the hordes of fanatical cultists!
