ok guys, been playing Pit Slaves for a bit, and got bored quickly, so heres some humour:

Ugg (leader) - Autogun, Autopistol, Club
Tiny (Scaley) - Spear Gun, Club
Little legs (Scaley) - Spear gun, Club
Stalks (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club, Eyestalks
Scarper (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club
Fingers (Scavvy)- Autopistolx2, Club, Extra Arm
Cleavemire (Scavvy)- Autopistolx2, Club, Two Heads
Eyes (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club, Eyestalks
Slippy (Scavvy)- Autopistol, Club, Tentacle
Scratch (Scavvy)- Autopistolx2, Club
Iffy (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club
Bodgit (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club
Raz (Pit Slave hired gun) - Buzz Saw, Autopistol
Chukka (Pit Slave hired gun) - Claw, Autopistol

Leaving me 5 creds spare - the basic idea is to swamp the opposing gangs with the expendable members and followers (Zombies and slaves) - feeding the slaves to my gangers (10 creds for at least 9 meals!!) if they get wounded and then buying more.

Ideas welcome

You can't feed hired guns to scavvies, it was covered in the last faq

Not to sound off, but where is that? I've checked as much as I can be bothered through the FAQ and can't see it - only gang leaders.
Again, I'm not trying to be awkward, but I'll have to show the Arbitrator
Thanks,
Raga

Little legs (Scaley) - Spear gun, Club

(120+80) = 200 Creds

Stalks (Mutant)- Autogun, Club, Eyestalks

(25+16+10) = 51 Creds

Eyes (Mutant)- Autogun, Club, Eyestalks

(25+16+(10x2)) = 61 Creds

Slippy (Mutant)- Autopistol, Club, Tentacle

(25+12+10) = 47 Creds

Fingers (Mutant)- Autopistolx2, Club, Extra Arm

(25+12+12+10) = 49 Creds

Cleavemire (Mutant)- Autopistolx2, Club, Two Heads

(25+12+12+25) = 74 Creds

Scratch (Scavvy)- Autopistolx2, Club

(25+12+12) = 49 Creds

Scarper (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club

(25+16) = 41 Creds

Iffy (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club

(25+16) = 41 Creds

Bodgit (Scavvy)- Autogun, Club

(25+16) = 41 Creds

Raz (Pit Slave hired gun) - Buzz Saw, Autopistol

(10) = 10 Creds per game

Chukka (Pit Slave hired gun) - Claw, Autopistol

(10) = 10 Creds per game

TOTAL = 1032 Creds

You are over your starting credit limit by 32 credits, and as Tomothy said you cannot feed hired guns to your gang.

You can only eat members of your gang or prisoners as stated in the "Cannibals" section of their rules. The FAQ adds that even though he is a member of the gang, the Scavvy Boss cannot be eaten. The FAQ further adds on page 13 under "Hired Guns" that Hired Guns are not part of the gang. This in in relation to taking leadership tests, but also applies to feeding them and counting them in regular House gangs for calculating Income brackets; it is therefore logical that they cannot be eaten either according the wording of the Cannibals rule.

If Scratch lost his second Autopistol (12cr) and Eyes was a regular Scavvy instead of a Mutant (20cr) you would be dead on 1000cr.

All this assumes I've not buggered up any of the rules/FAQs/costings (it is nearly midnight here, yawn!).

Have they changed the cost of a spear gun too? In the edition of the rules I have
http://www.specialist-games.com/assets/Scavvyrulesv1.pdf
theyre 55 creds each - have they gone up to 80?

Major_Gilbear

Whoops, they are 55cr, you're right (told you I was tired! :p). So that would total 982 credits. I'd still drop the items I noted though; they are just duplicates (especially that spare Autopistol).

Ok, thanks Major :)

Thanks for that Major.

PLayed my first game with the gang last night, managed to get Cleavemire captured, but declined to rescue or pay for him (after all, what would Ugg do?!) and then simply bought a new one named Quagland. We played the Caravan scenario, the delaque player assumed I would be using a split force, and deployed along the board edge, but I simply concentrated all 14 gang members and the 5 zombies I rolled on the right flank and waltzed through with 10 members, 343 credits for me!!

Cheers again,
Raga.

Hehe, good for you! :p

Caravan is the most broken scenario for an Outlaw/Outlander gang tho, entirely because the money you make doesn't get washed through an income table like the regular law-abiding Houses do. Balancing the income table with the Outlaw/Outlander direct-income method is hard to do so that it is fair.

Still, with over 300cr in you stash, I doubt you'll go wanting for a very long time!

Cleavemire (Scavvy)- Autopistolx2, Club, Two Heads
Spot the Family Guy reference! :D

I've not got much tactical advice - i haven't run a scavvy gang since they first came out, but best of luck!

Well, I'm sad to say that Cleavemire died this afternoon - but I have bought Quagland instead. Hope you like that one too Jedi ;)

Hey, You might remember this Major Gilbear... Can you remember which issue it was [White Dwarf] that had the tips for a scavvy gang in it ? An opponent is just going to start a scavvie gang [he's also new to necromunda] and i just thought it'd be cool to let him read the tips later. I have probably got it in a stack somewhere... I expect its somewhere between issue 192 and 205

It is Issue 198 (it has a big Trollslayer on the front cover).

Not a great article actually, it just tells you what's in the list pretty much.

I would suggest you and your friend give the Scavvy PDF a good read-through, and then decide what models you intend to use for your gang. Then post up here at Warseer (or at The Underhive; see my sig) and we can help your friend choose a gang and suggest a few tactics to get on with. I mention the models as I know that mutations and weapons tend to be limited in practice by mundane things like what figure is available :p.

Yeah, big disappointment that was.
I had it in my mind it was much more in depth than that, with andy chambers giving tips and tactics. As it stands its basically the outlanders entry with a few pictures :( I can probably give him as much information as that myself! go for close combat, dont expect to hit unless you're at very short range and dont shoot unless at short range either or you'll liukely be out of ammo.

Actually one thing you can probably help with now.. Which are best as followers.. Zombies [implacable] Hounds [fast] or Ghouls [fear, quite fast, good in assault] ?

TBH, I play with the old Outlander rules. If you use the new Scavvy Cannibal rules, don't abuse Zombie hiring and don't abuse the Caravan scenario, they are perfect as written (IMHO).

Otherwise, I'd suggest the Zombies for character and effectiveness (Ghouls are cannibalistic human degenerates... er Scavvies then? Dogs go with Scavvies and not other gangs... er why?). Zombies also infect others with the Plague.

You'll find that with all the Outlanders actually (except maybe the Spyrers); the old rules are way better but can be abused. If players are mature enough not to abuse the loopholes, then stick with the old rules. Besides, the new rules either fail to address the cheese, or nerf so far as to make the gang boring to play.
As a side note, ALL my models work with the old rules, but the new gang lists have left a lot of models out in the cold... and for no good reason!

Anyway, if you are looking for tactics, prolly best to start a new thread?

Had a mate who did the caravan mission twice back in the day. Ridiculous. Richer than any "legal" gang could ever have been.

I suspect it will hinge on how many zombies we can scrounge up. I know we certainly have enough mangey dogs.

Anyhow, might have some questions later in the week.

I could suggest that if you have any spare 40k Imperial models and a frame or two of WHFB Zombies that you randomly combine their parts to make all the Zombies you will ever need!
Empire free company and Catachans are a good base, and IIRC Mail Order used to do an "Undead Pirate" deal where you could get a mix of Milita and Zombie sprues for about 15... Likewise a Plague Zombie deal for Storm of Chaos that was a mix of Catachan and Zombie sprues. Enough to make about 16 models from each kit I think.

The only problem is that scavvies can't have lasguns, only autoguns and blunderbusses, some some conversion would be necessary.

Major_Gilbear
16-05-2007, 12:35
Er, I'm talking about Zombies Jedi152. And they'd be using the WHFB Zombie arms? Therefore no lasguns ;).
