Hey folks I was wondering what do folks think of the current levels of support for AI - I was pondering that even compared to third tier GW games the support seems well, a little limited. Anyone else care to comment?

Well, it only came out a short matter of months ago. They have 95% of the models out, I reckon they're doing ok.

What do you feel is missing Christine? I'm not sure what support AI needs.

They've been steadily releasing the miniatures from the first book, and work has started on more aircraft, such as the Chaos superheavy bomber in the Forgeworld open day thread (40k news & rumours forum).

Forgeworld pretty much work by making cool stuff they want to play with, and then making it available for sale. It seems to be working pretty well at the moment, as they can't make AI stuff (and some of their other new stuff like Death Korps) fast enough to keep up with demand.

Well I'd say support seems mixed, obviously the stuff released at present is really cool but the fact that you can't even play the game in some stores is just ridiculous. Obviously this is a case where support is less than that of the Specialist games range.

From the model side the support is quite good. I would enjoy some form of hobby support for AI - battle reports, conversions, more scenarios, "terrain" articles. But that's not what FW does, and obviously GW gives a **** about what FW does. I can live with the situation, but would like more support than just the availability of models.

So far I think support from FW has been great. They have been releasing models as they are finished and ready for distribution, they have answered a FAQ built in this very sub-forum, and they have begun work on the next installment.

If you are looking for Battle Reports and painting guides in WD you will never see them. SG games are not even in WD anymore. The same goes for in (GW) store play - the main company is so focused on selling the 3 core games that they do not even sell SG games in store, where as I have been to a few independents in the US who do.

So support from FW - amazing for the scale of operation they have.
Support from GW Studio - what is this? This is a game in the Warhammer 40,000 universe? how about you buy some of these over-priced Space Marines?

They still sell SG stuff in my store, its only a small selection but you can order stuff in if you want.

The US stores (outside of the Battle Bunkers) seem to not carry SG stuff - the staff didnt even know what I was talking about.

30/33 items listed in the book have models (missing aquila, 'eavy flak kannon and sabre platforms?), so that's 90.9%, my apologies for being so far off the mark Tyra_Nid :P
