Anyone have any rules for bikes for Necromunda? Or even vehicles and beasts?

Please, pretty please?

aaargh! I let my collection of necro mags with those rules in go a few weeks ago.
Have you tried the specialist game website?

The specialist site I've looked at doesn't have it, the one off the Australian GW site. Would the UK or US ones be different?

I'm afraid the I have no idea {cough}Isaac Tobin{cough} who the original authour is, and sadly since his website is now long defunct, no idea where one could find his wonderful rules (http://www.geocities.com/helldudes/necbike.html). Sorry.

Thanks Major Gilbear, that looks like it'll do the trick :)

Hmm, talk about luck.
I was just glancing at my copy of the "git yer motor runnin'" rules for bikes and ash nomads and stuff from an old necro magazine. tbh, the only reason I got those issues is because I was after some cyberpunk-y kinda biker mini conversion ideas I could use in my rpg-ing. So, there are people out here who do have them. PM sent.

Of course, since then, I've scored some antique SM black shadows (which unlike the current SM bikes, actually fit onto a cavalry base) and a few void viper bikes. These I'm also using for my IG roughriders - "black widows" they're meant to look like outlaw bikers, so a mix of bikes is not a concern to me. The fact that I can't use the void bikes in a GW sponsored tourney is also not a concern. I can always throw on more gubbins, so that the final result doesn't show its origin.

Hey got some pics of your new acquisitions? Very interested in the 'outlaw bikes.' I was thinking of using CSM bikes without the bolters and the bolter mounting plate, plus extending the front spokes (pipe bits).

Ross, use Dark Eldar Jetbikes and the old metal Guard Heavy Weapon wheels. Cut off the jet engine and cobble together a mount for the rear wheel. Knock up some front forks from bits and use old Cadian or Catachan Heavy Weapon crew legs fior the riders.

That is a suitably sized human biker. Kinda pricey though but that is the way I did it. No pics I'm afraid but they appeared in one of the Necro Magazines. The one with Journeyman Gangs if that helps. Ask Major Gilbear, he'll know.

Here are a couple of the void (1.1) viper wing bikes. There are six of these guys, and four of the black shadows. The black shadows are currently sitting in the stripper, as the paint was caked on (thick, gloss enamel).

the viper wings are a slightly smaller scale, but the riders aren't too out of scale for them. I've got to sculpt up some legs for the black shadows, as I don't have any of the original rider legs for IG (bike/jetbike).
The riders are made up from sentinel pliot legs and catachan torsos (from the hvy weapon sets). There's a couple of the bearded heads and sme chain flail weapons from the chaos marauder set. Arms come from cadian, catachan and marauders. I've gone for the armoured left shoulder on most of them (check out mad max - he has more leather on one shoulder than the other).
I suppose I could have called them "the shadows" or something, but the widows is a better reference from my pov. "Black widow bikes kill more people than..."

@catferret- that one sounds involved! I'm going to have a look at my marine bikes, I never liked using them in games (I'm an infantry man), going to see what I can do to de-bulk them.

@chromedog- those are some nice looking manga style bike there. That's the sort of thing I can picture in a game of Shadowrun!! They look 'fast.' Nice use of the windswept hairy head too by the way, totaly Hells Angels!
Feel free to ignore this bit: with the gun on the side, try one of the vehicle sprue ones with the folding stock, also, try a sheath, like the old west saddle bag rifle. <puts hands over head for the return blows>

I know this'll sound like a MP&T discussion but ..... how about a biker with the scarf over the mouth, sunnies, and cap helmet from the opening scenes? Another one, does your missus have any broken fine chain necklaces? I pilfered some from mine, you wrap them around the hand (models hand not your own <ouch> ) and have them trailing off, coat heavily with super glue and it hardens the lot, you have to hold the chain horizontal and let it dry but the effect's well worth it!

Oh, Tyra_Nid lent me his Gorkamorka rules, I'll have a look at those to see if the bike and trukk rules will fit into Necro with ease!

Though the wife does have some fine chain necklaces, she'd kill me if I pilfered any of them. I'd also consider myself pretty stupid to use a $300 chain for modelling (she can't wear silver, and nickel gives her a rash, so it's 24ct gold or platinum only. That's also why she doesn't have a lot of jewellery from me. I'm not made of that much money.)

Ross: C&C is always welcome (as long as it isn't of the 'your painting is the suxxorz' kind. I know I'm not GD material, get over it. ;) ) I've got several of the lasguns from the vehicle accessory sprue, and none have a folding stock, just no stock. I'll probably do the saddlebag idea, though. These were only trials. The guns are only tacked on. I'm using mostly catachan heads with bandannas, and a couple are even wearing sunnies.
Oh, and the sgt is riding a quadbike. It's a mini I picked up years ago, but lost the wheels for, so I subbed in some spare bike wheels and it looks pretty cool.

I think it was Issue 5. ;)

This (http://uk.games-workshop.com/convershunklinic/40k-cadianroughriders/) is near enough the same thing though, and comes with more up-to-date part codes etc. As you can see, you are really only cutting parts off the main frame of a DE jetbike and adding wheels.

@chromedog:
Nice bikes! Very "Akira" :p

Yeah I guess $300 is a bit pricey, just a little :)
Strange you didn't get folding stock ones, maybe they didn't come from those sprues? Anyway, sounds like you've got it all planned out. You should do a MP&T log with them! I'd tune in :)

Nice find there Major, that looks cool!

Chromedog, the newer Imperial Guard tank upgrade sprue definitely has one Lasgun with a folding stock. It is folded underneath the weapon and looks like it wouldn't unfold unless you removed the power clip.

Hey just finished thumbing through the Gorkamorka rules, they're very similar to the Necro rules! Yeah yeah you probably already knew it but I didn't :)

I've also acquired the ash wastes vehicle rules, bikes etc so .........

@Catferret: You do appear to be correct, sir. I probably just assumed that bit was flash and removed it. :-) Sometimes you just can't tell.

@major_g: Yep, they're pretty bikes, indeed, but the squad I'm building cost me $30AUD to get the bikes (9 of them). Yikes, just saw the price for the kit - 82 quid? Somewhere between $180 & $200 AUD ? For 3 IG bikers? Man, that's just ... makes FW look cheap, really. Even considering the amount of bits you get in the kit.

Some will have laspistols and sheathed swords, though. I've got to find a spare flamer or plasma gun as well. They'll all have the spare packs from the catachan weapon crews as well as melta bombs (not sure if I can be bothered doing up little bottles, though). be using the ones of the devvy sprue though.

Hey chrome, give us a yell if you want a flamer or plasme gun.

Major_Gilbear

Yeah, I know, 82 for three Rough Riders is patently ridiculous. But then again, if you examine the bits in the kit, you see what it is so expensive. I mean, you don't need to buy a whole 21 set of sprues for the rear wheels when the only bit you need can be susbstituted for a small peice of sprue or plascard. Similarly, you don't need 15 of heavy weapon sprues for the front frorks when you can easily use some tubing or spare sprue. That's 36 I've just saved, and TBH if you you can figure out a better/cheaper set of handlebars you can save yourself the 18 on SM Bikes too!

The important bits are the wheels (which are too small IMO anyway) and the DE Jetbikes (Ebay + brakefluid FTW?). Everything else is just a few bits of sprue really.

Anyway, just thought I'd make that point ;).

The DE jetbikes i could probably get from scouting the 2nd hand table at cons (picked up a few bargains, that way). The front/rear forks could be done from plastic card. Wheels, I have plenty of (1/35 scale wheeled transport vehicles are great for that). I don't like to use ebay (it's not so good out here).

What I could achieve if given an unlimited budget or full access to the GW bitz bunker?
