As most of you will no doubt be aware, today Games-Workshop released the birthday miniture. this 1000pts of goodness, with legal rules detailed in white dwarf, is a monstrsity, and so gents, i propose this question. "is there a sure fire way to kill this model" ?

doesnt it have like MR 3?

One option is the Little Waagh spell "Mork Wants Ya!" It will do D6 Str 10 hits. This could finish him off if he fails 4 ward saves of 4+.

This is not likely to work, (MR 3). However, it is a better alternative than fighting him in HTH. And shooting him is a waste of time.......... (STR is 1/2)

I want to be the first to kill his over-powered ass.

Happy Hunting!!!!

Could someone give those that haven't seen it yet, a heads up?

with legal rules detailed in white dwarf,

Umm, I'm pretty sure that the article says that you need opponent's consent and is only meant to be used for a bit of fun.

It only has 4 wounds? I thought that was bloody Gotrek and Bugman carrying the shield?

I saw a Skaven Warlord with the Fellblade kill him on the weekend.

It was quite funny.

Drop a Trebuchet shot on it's head first turn of a big in-store game when they're showing off how nasty it can be.

What is a "Brass Orb"?

In the store mega battle here... he was charged by a greater demon of nurgle and archaon at the same time... he killed archaon and then was later killed by the GDoN

a brass orb is thrown from a model within 8 inches. it trows out a small blast template that scatters. then any model under it has pass take an initiative test or be sucked into the warp.
a particular favorite of mine when my 130 pt skitterleaping eshin sorcorer takes out a thousand point slann on the 2nd turn...
then my master assassin and his fellblade do the rest

Giants pick up and works quite well. You'd need to charge him with about six to garrantee it, but could work.

avoid him and laugh at 1000pts that's movement 3, might just stand still on a turn anyway.

also make sure your most expensive unit is the other side of the board so he can't do that special charge into it.

then with the extra 1000 pts you have to spend on your army kill the rest of his.

also, for the guy who had annoyance of nettlings, doesn't his buddy automatically hit and wound 4 or 5 times?

Pit of shades
Violet fire(if your really lucky)
Giant
Treeman ancient with the annoyance of netlings and a murder of spites
Alter kindred forest lord, bow of loren, arcane bodkins
Chaos lord on dragon(various setups)
Blood dragon vampire lord(various setups)
Coils of the serpent
Skinks
1000pts of peasant bowmen(think its 1 wound a turn on average)

we had a competician at the local GW to see who could take him on one on one, the combination that won was an arc lector with the speculum, gorgons shield and sword of fate-or failing that just hope for a killing blow

Killing blow won't work as he is US 3. Any noncombat attack wounds on a 4+ at best, and his Init of 4 means he's not too bad at making those rolls to avoid pits and the like.
The best way is some form of save ignoring multiwound magic weapon. Thorgrim could probably do it :p

i killed him with archaon on monday:D

JonnyTHM

Tullaris and Throt could have a killing blow race, unless you consider the white dwarf to be a swarm...

sephiroth87
29-05-2007, 21:20
The best way to win is to kill every single model and unit around him, then win by about 1000 points.

Chaos players could take that Slaanesh spell that makes him attack his own unit. With 13 attacks, he'd be all by himself in about 2 turns...;)

WilhelmRochRedDuke

how about "hand of dust" him with a Blood dragon with reroll misses on first round. you will hit him.. as long as he fails the ward.. he's dust..

In a straight fight last Sunday Thorgrim killed him in two or three rounds. The White Dwarf even got the charge.

It was funny to see the Dwarf High King and his ultimate hero re-roll their misses because they hated each other so much.

As mentioned before, a Great Cannon could do it in 3 4+ rolls (4+ to wound, a 4+ ward save failure, and a 4+ for the wounds), not too bad really!and the 12" thing is a guaranteed move towards the most expensive unit anyway, putting him either in a great position to be charged and do lots of damage, or to charge something the turn after!

Isn't there a runic banner that lets them move faster for one turn as well? They could join that unit and be ridiculously hard!

Sorry, I just wanted to stand up for them as everyone else seems to have taken them out with relative ease.....

since the rules say it need your opponents permision, say no

or take advantage of the facts it's 1000 points and has M3, so dodge it and take out the rest of the pitifully small army with ease, then nuke him with the rest of your amry
